We’ll keep this one pretty short and sweet. Desmond Ridder is making his NFL debut today and he faces off against the rival Saints. This matchup is one in that he will be a hero if he wins and it could be the passing of the torch from Mariota to him if he excels. Ridder showcased his legs in college and I think this is a number he could break on one run if he sees a gap big enough.

New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction

Ridder in college showed that he was very capable on the ground and has a big play upside. The Saints have allowed the seventh most yards to quarterbacks rushing and have allowed seven running backs to accomplish this against them including some quarterbacks who typically don’t even scramble like that like Burrow or Mayfield.

This is a bit of a dart throw but when you’re making your first impression in the NFL against a divisional opponent I expect him to put his body on the line and move the chains himself if he has any trouble moving the ball through the air. Ridder has tons of potential and we’re not asking him to turn into Lamar Jackson here, just 23 yards. Let's roll!
