Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants Prediction
These teams enter with identical records, and the winner of this game tonight will have an 80 percent chance of making the playoffs. The Giants and Commanders both enter with a record of 7-5-1. Washington got off to a rough start this season, led by Carson Wentz. Wentz would get injured early in the year, and the Commanders handed the keys to backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Heinicke ran with the opportunity, and despite Wentz being healthy again, this is Heinicke's team.
These two teams played a couple of weeks ago, and the game ended in a tie. Both of these teams had an opportunity to win the game late, but neither could cash in on some late-game opportunities forcing the tie. This game will go a long way in deciding who will make the playoffs, and it will clear up the NFC playoff picture a bit.
The Giants got off to a great start this season, but they have come back to life. New York has not won a game since November 13th, when they beat the Houston Texans. The last time that the Giants beat a team with a record over .500 was when they beat the Baltimore Ravens all the way back on October 16th. It has been a tough run as of late for the G Men, and they will look to bounce back strong tonight.
I am all over the Commanders in this spot. Listen, the Giants are not a good football team, plain and simple. This is a team that was getting lucky early in the year and severely overachieving. We now see what the Giants really are as a team. They are a below-average team all around. I actually think that this Washington team is a playoff team. I think that at home tonight, they come out fired up and take care of business. Let’s close the week strong!
