Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles Prediction, Pick, Odds: Will the Eagles Stumble Without Jalen Hurts?

The Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Dallas on Saturday evening to take on the Cowboys. Everything has gone smoothly for the Eagles this year. Philadelphia has gone 13-1 and will likely win the NFC Championship and become the top seed in the NFC.

However, on Monday, the Eagles got some bad news. Quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a sprained shoulder and will likely miss multiple weeks. The injury could keep him out for the rest of the regular season, but he'll more than likely be able to compete come playoff time.

Therefore, former Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew will get another crack at starting football games. Minshew is a gamer who has experience under center. That should keep the Eagles on the right track moving forward.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are coming off an overtime loss to the Jaguars. It was a deflating loss that could keep the Cowboys back. Dallas was on a long winning streak, but the defense hasn't been as bright recently. Can the Eagles escape Dallas with a win?

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction

The rivalry between the Eagles and Cowboys is unmatched. It's one of the best in the NFL, especially when both teams are having good seasons. The Cowboys suffered an injury to their starting quarterback earlier this season. The Eagles will have to find a way to win games without theirs for the next couple of games.

Jalen Hurts a sprained shoulder in his non-throwing shoulder. However, he still can't play because he can get tackled on it and uses that shoulder for his throwing motion. Therefore Gardner Minshew will take over. Minshew is one of the better backups in the league, and now he'll finally get his shot to showcase what he's learned in Philadelphia since coming over.

Hurts has been incredible this year. He's in the MVP consideration. However, it's been a full team effort for the Eagles. The offensive line has been sensational. Guys like Miles Sanders, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith have looked good this year too.

Minshew can't escape pockets like Hurts and doesn't have that kind of ability. But he's got enough wheels and heart to make plays.

Meanwhile, the defense hasn't changed with the Hurts news. The defense might miss a lot of tackles, but they're big up front and cause chaos. The secondary has also played lights out throughout the season. After all, Philadelphia has allowed just 321.4 yards per game this season while allowing 19.1 points.

On the other hand, the Cowboys just lost to the Jaguars in overtime. Dallas isn't doing much in the passing game, earning 225.3 yards per game. Maybe they need Odell Beckham Jr. Dak Prescott has 11 interceptions this season and didn't even play games for a month. He's not having the best of seasons. Instead, Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott have been great in the running game, earning the Cowboys over 145 yards on the ground per game.

The defense isn't as powerful as Philadelphia's. The Cowboys have allowed 19.2 points on 348.1 yards per game. But the secondary and pass rush how a tier below what the Eagles bring to the table. Dallas has fewer missed tackles, but they've been terrible against the run, giving up 133.1 yards per game.

If the 13-1 Eagles are getting six points, sign me up. The Eagle defense has performed better, and the offense can still move at a solid pace with Minshew under center. I'll take the Eagles.
