The first reason is these two teams hate each other. Growing up as an Eagles fan, you are taught to legitimately hate everything about the Dallas Cowboys. This is one of the best rivalries in sports, and expect a chippy game tonight. The second reason is these are two of the best teams in football. Dallas and Philly are both legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Eagles have had more success between the two teams as they represent the best record in football at 13-1. It has been a glorious season for the Eagles, led by star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who will be out tonight as he nurses an injury.
Hurts injury will force backup quarterback Gardner Minshew into action. Minshew has not started a game this season, but he appears to be ready to go for this game tonight. He will be tasked with beating one of the best defenses in football, headlined by Micah Parsons, who is slated to win defensive player of the year.
Dallas comes into play with a record of 10-4. Dallas has been led by their outstanding defense, and their offense, when clicking, can be one of the best in football. The Cowboys are coming off a bad loss last weekend to the Jaguars in a game that they led by fourteen going to the half. If the Eagles win this game tonight, they will be crowned champions of the NFC East.Â
I am turning to a prop for this game. I will be backing DeVonta Smith over 52.5 receiving yards. This is a steal of a line in my eyes. Smith is the number one talent-wise, but with A.J. Brown on the team, Smith becomes the number two. I think that Smith will have a big game tonight for two reasons.
One, I believe a lot of the attention goes on A.J. Brown. This should open Smith a bit and give him some easy opportunities. The second is the game script I see for the Eagles. I think Dallas will be leading for the majority of this game, which means more throwing late in the game. That could create some good opportunities for Smith. Let’s cash in!Â
