Week 18 NFL Parlay Pick: Hammer This +1050 Longshot

It can be a little tricky trying to navigate through Week 18 in the NFL.

Some teams have already clinched a playoff berth. Meanwhile, other teams are experimenting with younger players after being eliminated from playoff contention.

The average box score stats will likely not look the same as Week 18's stats for most games. However, there are a few games that have real implications.

Here's a longshot parlay for Week 18 in the NFL on Sunday.

NFL Week 18 Longshot Parlay Picks

Leg 1: Dolphins (-135)

Could the Miami Dolphins fire Mike McDaniel after one season with the Dolphins as head coach?

That's the rumor. The Dolphins were 8-3 to start the season but the season quickly fell apart over the last five games. Miami is now 8-8 and hoping to earn a playoff berth. At this time, Miami has a 41% chance of making the playoffs, according to the New York Times. The Dolphins need to beat the Jets at home and have the Bills take care of the Dolphins in their home.

It isn't easy to pinpoint how the Bills will play in their game against the Patriots. This week has been highly emotional for all of those Bills players. But at home, with all of the fans on their side, the Bills should be able to escape New England.

Therefore, the Dolphins would then have to win on Sunday. Skylar Thompson will likely get the start for Miami. He's the third-string quarterback for the team. But at least he has experience starting and playing in games this season. Not many third-stringers have that. Plus, with the Dolphins playing at home at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, that should help give him the extra push.

The New York Jets have looked just as lousy as the Dolphins over the last month. New York couldn't do anything on the offensive end against Seattle, even with Mike White. I'll take the Dolphins as the first leg of the parlay.

Leg 2: Texans (+125)

I know. The Texans have won just two games this season. But heading into Week 18, how could you not be more comfortable with the Texans over the Colts?

The Colts just allowed the New York Giants to score 38 points last weekend. Meanwhile, the Texans did lose to Jacksonville, 31-3 last weekend. But they've been much more competitive against quality teams like the Chiefs. Houston literally dragged the Chiefs into overtime and lost to Dallas, 27-23. And they also found a way to defeat the Tennessee Titans on the road a couple of weeks ago.

Indianapolis will start Sam Ehlinger. He's played in three games this season, and the Colts have lost all three games he's appeared in. He's not the answer at quarterback for the Colts. That's why Jeff Saturday made Matt Ryan the starter when he walked into his office.

I trust the Texans more and trust Davis Mills more. I love these odds for Houston.

Leg 3: Lions (+195)

The Green Bay Packers have to win on Sunday Night Football, and they'll be in the playoffs.

The Lions are already being written off. They've got to take on the Packers, on the road, in a game where the Packers can win and advance to the playoffs.

But the Lions also have a chance at earning a playoff bid. If the Los Angeles Rams defeat the Seattle Seahawks, the Lions would have the chance to knock off the Packers in the final game of the regular season to advance into the playoffs. The Lions will already know if they're playing for a playoff berth. While the Packers have been extremely hot, they've also defeated poor teams like the Bears and Rams. Those two teams started the winning streak for the Packers.

Green Bay seriously isn't as good as everyone's thinking right now. If anything, the Lions have been more impressive this season.
