The San Francisco 49ers vs. the Philadelphia Eagles will meet up from the City of Brotherly love in Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. This week feels like it has taken two years waiting for this game, and I can not wait much longer. I figured that the best thing we could do while we wait is to find some bets for this game, so let’s get into it.
The Eagles come into play seen as a short favorite as they sit as a -2.5 point favorite at the moment. Philadelphia turned in the best season in football, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts. Entering the season, there were a lot of question marks around Hurts. A lot of people did not think Hurts was the franchise guy, but boy has he proved his doubters wrong this season. The 24-year-old was seen as an MVP favorite for most of the season, but he missed two games at the end of the year, which will likely eliminate him from winning the award.
San Fran, meanwhile, has been led by their defense which has been the best in football for the majority of the year. On the offensive side of things, they are on their third-string quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy has not played like a third-string quarterback since taking over and will look to continue his perfect run with a win this weekend. The Eagle's defense will have something to say about that, which is slated to be the most challenging task of Purdy's young career.
We needed an early week prop to get the blood flowing. I will be backing Brock Purdy to throw an interception. Purdy is yet to throw a pick in his NFL career, but I say that means he is due. Purdy certainly could have multiple picks, but teams have not been able to come up with some potential interceptions.
He is now facing an Eagles' defense that ranked third in the NFL in interceptions this year with 17. Purdy will see a lot of blitzes this weekend, and he has struggled seeing pressure this year. His three worst games were against teams that like to blitz, and I believe at some point, he will make a mistake in this game. Let’s keep rolling and cash in!
