Well, today, we are rounding out our AFC predictions for the season, and we are going to kick it off with my favorite dog in the conference for divisional winners, the New York Jets. Anyone who has caught a glimpse of Hard Knocks this season has an idea this team has swagger and is talented, but it goes much deeper than that, and I think they are being undervalued due to who they have to beat out at the top.
AFC East Preview and Prediction
This New York Jets squad has the potential to be a genuinely special squad; the defense is poised to be a top-five unit this year with arguably the best defensive line in the league and lockdown corners on both hashes.
Aaron Rodgers is nowhere near done in this league; the veteran seems to have found some youth in New York and looks hungry. A motivated Aaron Rodgers is a scary sight, and in the words of Stephen A. Smith, he is a badddddddd man. If the offensive line gets better weekly, the talented backfield tandem will excel, and Aaron Rodgers will light things up with this talented wide receiver corps/
The biggest and only threat in my eyes for the Jets to take the division is the Buffalo Bills, and I will gladly fade them here. The AFC is uber-competitive this year, and the Bills schedule is a gauntlet. It is hard to continue replicating success, especially when you are now one of the major public enemies in the league. Everyone wants to beat the Bills and prove Josh Allen is overrated.
These squads meet in New York in Week 1, and I think the Jets have the edge out of the gate. Culture is important in football, and the Jets have every bit of it they need right now. The Bills are still without Von Miller, and I think that can be a serious problem for them in regard to pressure here in Week 1, as it was last season against the Cincinnati Bengals.
