We've got a fantastic AFC East divisional showdown in primetime for Week 2 between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. After Tua Tagovailoa's red-hot start to Week 1, which included 466 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, he'll face a stout New England defense, which dominated the line of scrimmage against the Eagles' talented offensive line in Week 1.
The return of Bill O'Brien for his second stint as the Patriots OC has already made third-year quarterback Mac Jones look twice as good as last season. While the Patriots' defense remains the strength of the team, expect this offense to take advantage of a Miami defense that let the Los Angeles Chargers' offense hang 34 points in a back-and-forth shootout last week.
Oddsmakers expect a tight one in Foxboro, with the Patriots entering as three-point home underdogs against the spread. The point total is among the higher ones on the Week 2 slate at 46.5, likely due to the performance we saw from Tagovailoa in Week 1. He was atop the MVP odds race last season until a series of concussions kept the left-handed signal caller sidelined. Tyreek Hill is going to be the focal point of Bill Belichick's defensive game plan, which means we may see other Dolphins step up.
NFL handicapper Matt MacKay is here with his latest analysis, including the best bet to place in this AFC East tilt between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots on Sunday night.

Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots Prediction
The point total has gone over in four of the last five head-to-head matchups between the Dolphins and the Patriots. However, the only game that went under was when the point total was set at 47, which is essentially the current 46.5-point total we're getting at FanDuel Sportsbook.
New England is 12-2 straight up in its last 14 home games against the Dolphins, while the Dolphins are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against New England. This conflicting data makes me want to move off of most of the game odds for this Sunday night matchup.
The arrival of Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio has already seemed to help Miami's defense up front, although they did surrender three rushing touchdowns to the Chargers backfield in Week 1. This means we're due for New England's running backs to find the end zone. Ezekiel Elliot has made a living at the goal line in his recent years with the Dallas Cowboys, so the Patriots may look to him to punch in a red zone touchdown.
However, third-year running back Rhamondre Stevenson remains the RB1 for New England, where he's scored nine of 11 career touchdowns inside the ten-yard line. Oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have Stevenson's anytime touchdown prop listed at +110, so let's take the plus odds and wager a couple of units on this lucrative NFL player prop for Sunday night's game.
