I told myself last week I would never bet on a running back coached by Bill Bellicheck again; who was I kidding? This has everything going for it that you look for in a bet. Bad weather is forcing teams to run more, a projected positive rushing script, and a defense that allowed others to smash this line.
New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Betting Pick
Last week, we saw Dallas run the ball with running backs 35 times! Tony Pollard had 25 carries of his own. Rhamondre Stevenson is the clear lead back in New England and had 15+ on both games against the Jets last year; all we need is 14. Stevenson hit this prop against Miami even with them trailing the entirety of that game.
The weather is a massive reason for this bet as well. It will be tough to through with winds over 10 MPH and rainfall. Neither team should blow the other out, so running will be viable throughout the whole game. The game has a low total for a reason so I expect an ugly game and Stevenson to not even run for many yards, but just have many attempts.
This number feels so good because I had it projected opening at 15.5, with New England being -2.5 favorites. Stevenson should see the volume. Hopefully, we don’t get a random Ezekiel Elliott game after he wasn’t used the whole second half of the last game. Let's roll!
