Bills vs. Commanders Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Sam Howell, Commanders Continue to Shock the World?

The Washington Commanders are at the top of the NFC East with a 2-0 record.

At least for now.

The Commanders gave the keys to Sam Howell in Eric Bienimey's offense, which paid dividends. Meanwhile, the defense has also played above standards.

But we'll see if the Commanders can continue their fine play against one of the league's best teams, the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are 1-1 on the season but are still one of the biggest threats in the NFL this season when it comes to winning a Super Bowl.

Can the Commanders stay undefeated in a home game against the Bills?

Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Sunday's game between the Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Commanders.

Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Commanders Prediction

The Buffalo Bills looked helpless against the Jets in Week 1. But they responded in Week 2 with a dominant win against the Raiders, 38-10.

Josh Allen has thrown four touchdowns and three interceptions. He'll still need to limit turnovers. But the offense has added nearly 400 yards of offense, with 140 yards on the ground to begin the year.

The offense isn't an issue as long as the turnovers stay down. However, there are still some concerns with the defense.

They held up against the Raiders but allowed a Jets team with Zach Wilson under center to run all over them. With Brian Robinson Jr., Washington could do the same as Breece Hall did in Week 1.

Robinson is one of the leading rushers in the NFL and has earned 146 yards rushing on 37 carries. He's also got two scores on the ground in two weeks.

Buffalo's secondary will be good enough. But the pass rush hasn't been very good, and the Bills also missed a lot of tackles that they probably would've made last year.

On the other hand, Washington's defense has one of the best pass rushes in the NFL. It's great to see Chase Young back on the field. He'll play a significant role with this pass rush moving forward.

The coverage is also respectable, and the run defense has held teams to 109 yards per game. Washington has the better defense right now.

Meanwhile, the Commanders have also done a better job limiting turnovers and have just as many solid playmakers as the Bills do on their roster.

The Bills will likely escape, but don't be surprised if Washington keeps this game close.

I'll take the Commanders at +6.5 in their home stadium.
