The Chicago Bears just had the most toxic week of all time. Their DC stepped down, thousands of dollars of equipment were stolen from their facility overnight, and Justin Fields called out their coaches in the media. Unfortunately for us, that leaves us with only one option to bet in this game, the Bears to cover in the ultimate buy-low spot.

Chicago Bears vs. Kansas City Chiefs Prediction
Betting on the Bears today isn’t for the faint of heart. They’re playing the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, the reigning Super Bowl champions. To be fair, though, the Chiefs haven’t looked great through the first two weeks of the season. It usually takes Andy Reid and the Chiefs a month or so to get going, so it’s not surprising to see this team off to a slower start than expected, especially without OC Eric Bieniemy, who’s now in Washington.
When Justin Fields called out his coaches this week, it was clear what he was addressing. They are asking him to do things in the pocket that simply aren’t natural for him. He seemed extremely frustrated, emphasizing he was going to do what was needed on Sunday to level up his play. Expect Fields to run the ball significantly more today, much like he did last year when the Bears had success.
Justin Fields isn’t ready to be a pocket passer. That doesn’t mean he never will, but right now, he needs to utilize his legs if the Bears want any chance at beating the Chiefs. Kansas City’s defense is no slouch, but they’ve been known to give up big plays. If they can’t contain Fields this afternoon, he’s going to run wild all over the Chiefs’ defense.
I’m not saying the Bears are going to win this game outright. I do think it’s the ultimate buy-low spot for Chicago against a team that rarely covers big spreads. This line is an overreaction to how poorly the Bears have executed their game plan this year. Fields is going to take matters into his own hands today, dipping out of the pocket and running whenever necessary.
With 75% of bets on the Chiefs (per VSIN), fade the public and back the Bears in one of the largest spreads of the early NFL season. Fields made it clear that he’s going to go back to his old self to the media this week, and we’re going to take advantage of that statement. His rushing yards prop got bumped up to 60.5 after he pretty much said he won’t be staying in the pocket much on Sunday. This is a narrative play I can get behind.
We are only two games into the season. This spread is a complete overreaction to what we’ve seen in an extremely small sample. I’m willing to bet Justin Fields uses his legs more today than he did in the first two games combined. Bet the Bears to keep this game within 12.5 points and Fields to light it up on the ground.
