Lions vs. Packers Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Jordan Love Push Packers To Their Third Win This Season on TNF?

The Green Bay Packers will welcome the Detroit Lions to Lambeau Field for a rivalry matchup on Thursday night.

The Lions and Packers are both trending in the right direction. Green Bay is 2-1 with Jordan Love under center. Despite multiple injuries to key players, the Packers have found ways to win.

On the other hand, the Lions already defeated the Chiefs and are now 2-1 this season. Detroit's got a lot of depth on offense, and it's shown thus far.

Which offense will shine brighter on Thursday night?

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Prediction

The Green Bay Packers were supposed to be a year behind the Detroit Lions.

The Lions saw significant improvement in the second half of last season and had higher expectations coming into this season.

So far, the Lions have met those expectations. The offense has earned nearly 385 yards per game, including 273 in the passing game.

Detroit is expecting David Montgomery to return to the lineup in this game. Therefore, Jahmyr Gibbs will return to his old role, playing behind Montgomery.

Gibbs started last weekend and still didn't get to flash all his ability for the Lions. With Montgomery as the lead back, Gibbs might get more pass-catching opportunities in this game.

Meanwhile, the Packers have allowed 355.7 yards per game defensively. The secondary is excellent, but the run defense has struggled, allowing 136.7 yards per game on the ground.

Look for the Lions to commit to the run early. If the run starts to work, it'll open up the entire offense for Jared Goff.

On the other hand, the Packers have only earned 90.3 yards per game on the ground this season. That's because Aaron Jones has sat out the last two games. The star running back is questionable for this game. Because it's being played on a Thursday, it's unclear if he'll have enough time to prepare for this game, along with Christian Watson.

Watson has been listed as the No. 1 receiver for the Packers. But he hasn't played a single snap this season due to a hamstring injury.

Once Jones and Watson are available, Jordan Love will have many weapons around him to succeed. He's already had a lot of passing plays down the field. Having Watson back would only help the success rate on those passes.

Detroit's defense has been average at best this season. They've missed countless tackles and have a secondary that has been poor at times. The pass rush is typically the most substantial portion of the defense. But even that pass rush hasn't had significant success this season.

I'm expecting a close game and believe we'll get plenty of offense from both teams in this game.
