As a contrarian who loves to fade the public, I have no choice but to fade the Phins after that performance. It helps that they’ll be traveling to Buffalo to face the red-hot Bills.

Josh Allen doesn’t get the respect he deserves. After a season where he battled through a brutal elbow injury, Allen is finally healthy and has a prime matchup against a poor secondary. The Bills’ offense is firing on all cylinders after a brutal week one. With the total on the rise from 49.5 to 53.5, there should be plenty of offense from Josh Allen and Co. in this one.
Miami’s defensive line is decent, and Xavien Howard is a pick-machine, but nobody in this secondary can keep up with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. They will be torching this defense for 60 minutes. James Cook is dynamic both as a runner and pass-catcher in the backfield, expect him to leave his mark against this porous secondary through the air.
Oddsmakers showed Buffalo serious respect with the -3.5 opening line. The Bills are now down to a -2.5 point favorite. This move doesn’t surprise me, considering the Dolphins are one of the most public plays on the slate. More than 75% of bets and 80% of handle are currently backing the Dolphins to win this game.
Asking Miami to win a road game in Buffalo is an extremely tough ask, and it’s clear the public still has recency bias from Miami’s 70-20 win. Fade the public, and back the Bills at home. Don’t get scared off by the line movement, the Dolphins are a public dog.
