9 minMonday Night Football Prediction: Can Jordan Love, Packers Regroup on MNF?
The Green Bay Packers come into this matchup with a record of 2-2 and have been fairly inconsistent so far. They really could/should be 1-3 if not for a historic fourth-quarter comeback against the Saints two weeks ago in which they were trailing 17-0 in the fourth quarter before Jordan love lead them on an improbable comeback to win 18-17.

Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Prediction
One might think an improbable fourth-quarter comeback like their game against New Orleans would be parlayed into a strong performance at home against the lions but that was not the case. The Packers got an early interception in that game and went up 3-0 but it was pretty much all Detroit after that as the Lions reeled off 27 unanswered points and never looked back.
While it was surprising to see the Packers play so bad at home in that spot, the lions have proven themselves to be a top five team in the NFL over the first five weeks so maybe we should be giving Detroit a little more credit and less criticism to Green Bay.
Now the Packers have to travel to Las Vegas to take on a Raiders squad who has had a lot of issues in their own right. The Raiders come into this matchup with a record of 1-3, and if not for a one-point victory over the Broncos in week 1 would be winless on the season. Jimmy Garoppolo, the starting quarterback for the Raiders, missed last week but should be back and healthy in the lineup for the Raiders tonight but this may not necessarily be a good thing for them.
Jimmy Garoppolo has more interceptions than touchdowns on the season to this point and he has just not looked very good in his opportunities so far. The Raiders offense as a whole has been struggling immensely as they are ranked dead last in the NFL in rushing yards per game, 30th, and third down conversion rate, 30th in time of possession, and 30th in average points per game. Things haven’t been much better for them on defense either as they are ranked 30th in sacks to this point.
So just to clarify, the Raiders cannot run the ball, they can’t convert third downs, they aren’t possessing the ball for long periods of time which is putting their defense in disadvantageous positions, and they aren’t getting pressure on the quarterback on defense… this is the ultimate recipe to lose games in the NFL.
Josh Jacobs, last year‘s, NFL rushing leader, has struggled to get going this season as he is averaging just 42 rushing yards per game on 2.7 yards per carry. The Packers have not been the best team in the league at stopping the run this season as they just allowed the lions to run wild against them for over 200 rushing yards so getting Jacobs involved early and often in this game will be paramount for the Raiders offense to sustain drives and allow their defense to get ample rest.
Overall, this game boils down to quarterback play and which defense I trust more. Jordan love is a very solid young quarterback, who is only going to progress more with each passing start. We saw him have his worst game of the season on primetime last week against Detroit and I fully expect him to bounce back against a well below average raiders defense. On the other side, Jimmy Garoppolo has simply not been getting it done partly because of this below average Raider's offensive line which has not been protecting Jimmy G or Aidan O'Connell very well as we saw the Chargers and Khalil Mack go off for seven total sacks which led to multiple turnovers.
They also have not been run blocking very well either, as they have not created many holes for Jacobs or the other raiders running backs. I do not see the Raiders getting consistent pressure on Jordan love and think he will have a big game tonight with his full WR core as Musgrave, Doubs, Reed, and Watson are all healthy and should be good to go.
The Packer's defense has also been able to force turnovers and get pressure fairly consistently and I fully expect Jimmy G to be sacked multiple times tonight with a few turnovers of his own as well. With that being said, I am rolling with Packers +2.5 at -104 for 1U as my most confident NFL play of the day for tonight's action.
