The New York Giants are 1-5 to begin the season. New York almost escaped Buffalo with a win, but multiple goal line gaffes prevented the Giants from earning that win. Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants Prediction

The New York Giants don't even know their quarterback for Sunday. While Daniel Jones is making solid progress with his neck, he missed last week's game and hasn't been cleared for contact in practice mid-week. Tyrod Taylor got the start for the Giants last week against the Bills. He made many mistakes that likely cost them the game. However, he still earned 200 yards passing and didn't throw an interception. That's a positive. New York has averaged under 300 yards per game on offense, but the defense has held up thanks to its pass rush. The rest of the Giants defense hasn't impressed. But they've allowed only 369.3 yards per game, while the Commanders have given up 390 yards per game defensively. Washington's defense isn't statistically better. But in reality, when all is said and done, Washington's defense will have better numbers. The pass rush is effective, and they've tackled more frequently while playing slightly above average in the secondary. New York hasn't been a threat in the passing or run games. Saquon Barkley is back, so that'll help the run game. Meanwhile, Jones and Taylor have given the offense nothing special in the passing game this season. Washington's offense is led by Sam Howell, who has helped the Commanders earn 337.8 yards per game. Like the Giants, the Commanders have not done well rushing the football. However, they've still thrown it for 250 yards. Howell has thrown six interceptions, but he's also added nine passing touchdowns. He's got solid weapons and is playing behind an offensive line that can hold its own. Before Washington's most recent win against the Falcons, the Commanders had allowed at least 33 points in each of their last four games. New York's offense isn't good enough to get those same results. Back the Commanders at -2.5.
