Talk about the ultimate “spot play,” Sunday’s matchup between two NFC North rivals has one of the weirdest lines on the slate. The Minnesota Vikings are coming off an emotional win against the San Francisco 49ers as seven-point underdogs. The Green Bay Packers, on the other hand, haven’t covered or won a football game in over a month. Why is this spread so close to a Pick ‘Em?

The 49ers just beat the best team in the NFL. They’ve won three of their last four games and are now back in the mix after a horrid 0-4 start to the season. The Vikings should be laying a touchdown in this spot, not one point, right? I can’t be the only one who thinks this is the nastiest spread of Week 8…
Jordan Love hasn’t been as bad as the public thinks. He’s also had to deal with a depleted offense due to injury. He’s had two weeks to craft up a gameplan with LaFleur to chance the narrative. People forget just a month ago the public was ready to crown Jordan Love as the next franchise-QB in Green Bay.
The Vikings have no run game. They got away with it last week against a banged-up Purdy and 49ers team who they caught off-guard, much like I’m expecting the well-rested Packers to catch the Vikings sleeping this afternoon. With nearly 80% of the bets coming in on MIN -1 (on DraftKings), there has been zero to little line movement at all.
This is a great sign for Packers backers, as the books are clearly content with being overexposed on the Vikings. Fade the public, and back the Packers at home coming off a bye-week in a must-win spot against a division rival. I have a feeling Jordan Love is going to look more like he did in the first few weeks of the season than he has of late.
