We're headed to Week 9 with plenty of enticing matchups on the NFL slate.
The Raiders just made the first coaching change of the season, firing Josh McDaniels. Antonio Pierce will be the interim head coach for Las Vegas moving forward.
Meanwhile, the NFL Trade Deadline just completed. While it wasn't the most exciting deadline, a few teams made some solid deals that will elevate their team for the second half.
That said, I've got a three-team parlay that I feel confident about for Week 9. I'll share below!
Week 9 NFL Parlay
New York Giants +2.5 (-114)
The Raiders might be 3-5 on the season. But they're looking like the worst team in the NFL right now.
Josh McDaniels was fired and now interim head coach, Antonio Pierce, is faced with a ton of challenges moving forward. The Raiders have played all three quarterbacks on their roster and none have played at a high level.
Meanwhile, the Giants defense has stepped up recently. With Daniel Jones fully cleared, New York could get back on track against Las Vegas. I'll back the Giants with the points.
Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 (-118)
The Bengals' stats don't look appealing throughout the season. But it's clear to see that Joe Burrow is healthy again. That's what's changed over the last month. Joe Burrow is back to being himself. He's more mobile and his footwork and mechanics are so much better.
We don't notice it sometimes. But a small injury could go a long way into a player performing at a low level.
The Bills have missed lots of tackles and have struggled against the run. Once the run game gets going with Joe Mixon, Burrow and the passing game should start to have success. I'm expecting a high-scoring game, but with Cincinnati at home, the Bengals should escape with a win against the spread.
Don't forget, Buffalo's had their struggles too this season.
New York Jets +3 (-105)
There's always so much hate surrounding Zach Wilson and the Jets. But let me tell you something. The Chargers secondary is one of the worst in the NFL.
Zach Wilson won't be pressured as much as he was against the Giants. He'll also have more openings to throw the football and likely won't have to worry about his receivers dropping passes. This is another game where Wilson can really breakout and prove himself.
Meanwhile, the Jets have the best secondary in the NFL and the Chargers have continued to struggle to run the football this season. New York should earn a win over the Chargers on Monday night.
