Josh Jacobs Raiders

Raiders vs. Dolphins Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Josh Jacobs, Raiders Keep It Close with Miami?

The Las Vegas Raiders have been flying high since firing their coach, defeating both New York teams in the last two weeks. Can they stay hot with Josh Jacobs on the ground and put up a fight against the Miami Dolphins? Jason Radowitz provides his prediction and spread pick for Raiders vs. Dolphins.

Raiders vs. Dolphins Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Josh Jacobs, Raiders Keep It Close with Miami?

The Las Vegas Raiders fired Josh McDaniels eight games into the season. The Raiders believed they had the pieces but weren't performing at a high enough level, with a 3-5 record.

Since that moment, the Raiders have been 5-5 and looking to get above .500 under new interim head coach Antonio Pierce.

But Pierce will have his toughest challenge since taking over the head coaching position. The Raiders will travel to Miami to take on the 6-3 Dolphins.

The offense has scored 46 points combined in the last two games. Can they keep up the offensive explosion against the Dolphins?

Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Sunday's game between the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins.

Raiders vs. Dolphins Prediction

The stats from the season don't represent the Raiders currently. Las Vegas has looked way happier and more motivated over the last two weeks. With a record of 5-5, the Raiders will start to believe in the organization and their teammates moving forward.

That simply goes a long way.

However, the Raiders are still stuck with Aidan O'Connell under center. He's playing as a rookie instead of Jimmy Garoppolo, who signed a massive deal with the Raiders earlier in the offseason.

O'Connell has a 222 QBR with two touchdowns and three interceptions on the year. He played better against the Giants compared to the Jets. But the Raiders would likely be better off with Garoppolo throwing the football.

Meanwhile, the Raiders have finally figured out the run game. Josh Jacobs has rushed for at least 96 yards over the last two games after having no more than 77 in any game previously.

Jacobs was a star running back for the team last year but never got it going under Josh McDaniels. This new regime has made sure to get Jacobs the ball ever since.

While the Dolphins have looked solid against the run this season, Miami has struggled with tackling at times this season. Miami has given up 106.33 yards per game on the ground, which is still not great.

This Dolphins defense has also allowed 25 points per game, which is above average this season. However, the Raiders have given up only 20.5 points per game.

The Las Vegas secondary and pass rush can put in work. But the run defense has allowed 135.6 yards per game this season. Like the Dolphins, tackling has been an issue.

But with Tua Tagovailoa under center, the Raiders should be able to earn sacks and create chaos. Tagovailoa isn't always the best at escaping pressure.

The Dolphins are way too heavy of a favorite in this game. I'll roll with the Raiders at +13.5.
