Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs Prediction
The public seems to think Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will get their revenge tonight. More than 60% of the bets (on DraftKings) are currently backing the Eagles to win this game on the road tonight. The Eagles have a better record than the Chiefs this year, and it’s fair to say that Patrick Mahomes and his offense haven’t looked as sharp without Eric Bieniemy.
I want to buy-low on the Chiefs tonight, if that’s even possible. Andy Reid coming off a bye week is one of the most profitable head coaches in NFL history, and although the Eagles have also had an extra week to prepare, I still give the advantage to the Chiefs in this spot, who will be playing on their home field tonight.
The Chiefs continue to get doubted because their wins haven’t been as dominant this season, but Andy Reid and Kansas City are notorious slow starters. It has taken this team longer than usual to figure out their new offense without their elite offensive coordinator, but Andy Reid is still calling the plays and Patrick Mahomes is still under center. The Chiefs might not have shown it yet this season, but they are the better team in this matchup and they are going to prove that tonight.
The Chiefs’ secondary is one of the better units in the NFL, but nobody is talking about it because they don’t have big-name players. They’ve out-played the Eagles secondary who’s taken a step back in 2023. I’m willing to bet Patrick Mahomes slices and dices the Eagles secondary, and the Chiefs defense continues to over-perform. Fade the public and the Eagles tonight, and back the Chiefs on the moneyline.
