Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction: Can Sam Howell, Commanders Light Up Scoreboard?

The Washington Commanders are struggling to get anything going in the NFC East, but will be airing it out on Thanksgiving. Can Sam Howell and the Commanders turn this into a Thanksgiving shootout with the Cowboys? Krabs breaks down this divisional battle with his Commanders vs. Cowboys pick.

Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction: Can Sam Howell, Commanders Light Up Scoreboard?

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates. What better way to spend your Holiday than cashing on the gridiron. I’ve got a play in the Cowboys vs Commanders game that’s going to pay for the Thanksgiving turkey. Here’s what I like…

Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction

People forget that Sam Howell beat the Cowboys 26-6 at the end of last season. That was the last time these rivals faced off. I’m sure the Cowboys remember that embarrassing loss, as they look to get revenge on the struggling Commanders. The Cowboys also have the longest active home win streak in the NFL right now. That’s not a streak I want to back or fade.

Instead of trying to “get cute” with a side in this matchup, I’m targeting the total. We’ve seen this total slowly creep up from 45.5 to 47.5 on most books throughout the week. I’m fully expecting a Sam Howell bounce-back performance after debatably the worst game of his young NFL career. He’s sliced and diced this Dallas secondary before…

Emmanuel Forbes, the Commanders first round pick, is out today with an injury. Considering how poorly he’s played this season, I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing, but Washington’s secondary is already thin. This unit struggled to contain Tommy Devito last week, the worst quarterback in the NFL right now. Imagine what CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott are going to do to them this afternoon…

Both of these offenses have prime matchups and a lot to prove this afternoon. There have been a lot of talks of Ron Rivera and his staff getting fired, but news broke this morning that their jobs are safe until the end of the season. Eric Bieniemy needs to prove to the world that he is deserving of all the hype, and after a brutal play-calling performance last week, I’m expecting a much better day out of him.

The Cowboys are out to prove that they are the best team in the NFC East. Dak Prescott is quietly having a career year, as this Dallas offense continues to shine and prove doubters wrong. This Washington defense is one of the worst units in the NFL, and without Chase Young and Montez Sweat, they will continue to struggle pressuring the quarterback. Expect Dak to shine on his home field this afternoon, carrying this Dallas offense to 30+ points.

Bet this over before the total gets any higher. This will be an offensive shootout between two NFC East rivals. These games are always closer than expected, so don’t be surprised if Washington keeps this one close until the very end. Dallas will have to keep their foot on the gas the entire game, running up the score.
