Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Seahawks caught the Cowboys sleeping on Thursday night at Jerry’s World, winning this game outright. Dallas has been known to fold in big games, and tonight’s primetime contest against the struggling Seahawks doesn’t seem like the most important game in the world to the 8-3 Cowboys. To Seattle, this game is huge for their playoff chances, and they’ve played Dallas tough in recent years. Pete Carroll has beaten the Cowboys outright in three of the last five times they’ve played.
This line is a complete overreaction to how these teams have played in recent weeks, and not how good they really are. I’m not saying the Seahawks are a Super Bowl contender, but I know Geno Smith is better than he’s shown and this defense has more in the tank than what they’ve put on film. Kenneth Walker is out for Seattle in the backfield, but Zach Charbonnet is more than capable of filling in. I actually think he’s one of the more slept on rookies in his class, and should help Geno immensely with check downs against the blitz-heavy defensive line.
I’ve seen large spreads like this in Cowboys games for years, and they always end the same way: with their opponent covering. Dallas simply doesn’t have the juice in primetime games, and although Dak Prescott is having an incredible season, this Seattle secondary has done a great job of limiting their opponents WR1. We’ve seen CeeDee Lamb disappear at times over the last few weeks, will Weatherspoon and this Seattle secondary lock him up once again? I’m willing to bet they do…
Fade the red-hot Cowboys and buy-low on Geno Smith and the Seahawks. I’m expecting another typical flop of a primetime performance from the Cowboys after a couple big wins. Fade Coach McCarthy at all costs, and don’t be surprised if the Seahawks win this game outright.
