Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cleveland Browns Prediction

The Jags begin play with an 8-4 record.

Jacksonville holds a one-game lead over the Colts and Texans in the AFC South.

The Jags are coming off a tough loss on Monday night when the Bengals went into their stadium and outlasted the Jags in overtime.

The loss was tough, but for a second, it appeared that things were much worse. Franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence went down with an injury late in the game, forcing backup CJ Beathard to finish the contest.

At the moment Lawrence was frustrated, throwing his helmet before being helped off the field. The good news is that the Jaguars say it is a high ankle sprain and that he should be able to play this weekend.

Running back Travis Etienne Jr. leads the Jags rushing attack, racking up 771 yards on the ground paired with eight touchdowns.

The Jags will be without their top receiver, Christian Kirk, who was injured on Monday Night. Kirk is expected to go on IR.

Calvin Ridley will become the main target of this offense. Ridley has 689 yards and five touchdowns to his credit this season.

The Jacksonville defense has allowed 21.6 points per game, which ranks 20th in football.

The Browns will begin Sunday with a record of 7-5.

That 7-5 record currently has them as the No. 5 seed in the AFC.

This record is impressive due to the fact that the Browns have started four different quarterbacks this season.

The current starter is former Super Bowl champion Joe Flacco. Flacco made his Browns debut a week ago against the Rams throwing for 254 yards two touchdowns and one interception.

Running back Jerome Ford leads the team in rushing. Ford has rushed for 647 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Amari Cooper has been the top target in the Browns offense. Cooper has racked up 799 yards and two touchdowns.

The Browns defense ranks 10th in points allowed per game (20.4).

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cleveland Browns Pick

This is a tough spot for the Jags on the road on a short week.

To make conditions more difficult for the Jags this team is banged up.

Lawrence will likely play in this game but he will be nowhere near one hundred percent facing one of the best defenses in football.

Etienne comes into this game hobbled and his snaps will likely be limited.

Lastly the Jags will be without their top option in the passing game as Christian Kirk will hit the IR.

The Browns will outlast the Jags in a low scoring affair.
