New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction
The Los Angeles Rams come into tonight 9th in PPG averaging 23.4 PPG and 31.7 PPG in their last three games. The Rams average 357.2 Yards Per Game (8th best in the NFL) while putting up an astonishing 418 yards last week against the Commanders. Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp seem to be clicking, but we cannot forget about their other weapons. Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams have been key players on this offense. Nacua is the team leader in yards with 1,163 in the 14 games he has played this year. And although he has been hurt for part of the year, Williams is the teams leading rusher with 953 rushing yards on just 186 carries (5.1 YPC). This offense, when clicking, has been a headache for opposing defenses. With that being said, I think this Saints team matches up well against this Rams offense.
This Saints defense has been sneaky good all season. This defense ranks 10th in takeaways with 22 and rank 6th in points allowed, averaging (19.1 PPG). They have a great 3rd down defense that you could argue is one of the best in the league. I think this defense can create some havoc tonight against Stafford. On the offense side, Derek Carr and the rest of their crew have been a little underwhelming at times, but one thing they've held their own at has been taking care of the football. Carr has 16 TD's to his 7 INT's this season. Expect Alvin Kamara to have a big game tonight. I think Carr will use him in the passing game, as well as getting a handful of carries tonight. This Rams' defense struggles against the run and with Aaron Donald being banged up, the Saints can take advantage of that and have a day on the ground.
I love the Saints in this matchup tonight. As long as Carr and this offense can take care of the ball and stick to their game plan, I think that they can capitalize on this below-average Rams defense. I think this Saints' defense can slow down this red-hot Rams offense that is due for regression. Don't be surprised if the Saints win outright tonight.
