Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Chargers Prediction
For some reason, whenever a team fires their coach in any sport, you typically see an uptick in their success recently following the move. The Chargers just fired their head coach and general manager last Friday, which felt long overdue.
It will be Giff Smith taking over the interim coaching duties for the Chargers. He was formerly their outside linebackers coach, and is considered one of the players’ favorite coaches on the staff. He’s one of the longest-tenured coaches on this team, and a couple players (Easton Stick and Derwin James Jr.) have come out and expressed their support for Coach Giff. We just saw the Raiders rip-off a hot streak after firing their head coach mid-season, I don’t see why the Chargers players don’t rally around Coach Giff this week very similarly.
It can’t get any worse for the Chargers, who are getting 12.5 points against the bills at home this weekend after giving up 63 points to the Raiders last week. It was clear that this team gave up on Coach Staley and the season in that game, and I would love to buy low on Easton Stick and Austin Ekeler in a huge letdown spot for the Bills.
Buffalo just destroyed the Cowboys, one of the best teams in the league. I guarantee you they won’t be practicing as hard this week before Christmas after destroying the Cowboys and beating the Chiefs in each of their last two weeks. This couldn’t be more of a letdown spot for this Bills team who is now firmly back in the playoff hunt.
Nobody on Earth wants to bet on the Chargers this weekend, and that’s exactly the kind of spot I want to be in. Fade the public on Saturday, hold your nose, and bet on the Chargers to keep this game within 12.5 points on Saturday night. The Bills will be thinking more about what they want for dinner on Monday night than their measly opponents in Los Angeles.
