9 minNFL Player Props Week 17: Top Anytime TD Scorer Bets
We're back after a week off during the holidays, so hopefully, you're ready to increase your bankroll with five anytime touchdown scorer prop bets lined up for a monstrous Week 17 NFL slate.
In Week 15, during our last anytime touchdown scorer article, we went 2-3, with Raheem Mostert (-105) and Cole Kmet (+260) coming through for us against the Jets and Browns respectively. Somehow, Derrick Henry, who historically owns Houston, wound up getting stuffed, logging 16 carries for nine total yards and zero touchdowns. The other two were nowhere close to cashing in their games. Taysom Hill getting limited touches and hardly any goal-line work despite a plus-matchup against the Giants' porous run defense. Kyle Pitts, who has scored in two of the last three games, didn't find his way into the end zone against a stingy Panthers pass defense, as the matchup was played in bad conditions.
NFL handicapper Matt MacKay is here to give out his latest Week 17 anytime touchdown scorer props to wager during a full slate of games on Sunday. Happy New Year! Let's ring in 2024 with some winning bets in this exciting and lucrative NFL prop market!
BEST NFL WEEK 17 ANYTIME TD BETS
DERRICK HENRY ANYTIME TD SCORER (-125) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
Yes, we're going right back to Derrick Henry, even though he burnt us two weeks ago in this same matchup against Houston. Henry was held to a shockingly low nine rushing yards on 16 carries, as the Texans' defensive front stifled the Titans' run game, winding up with a win in overtime without C.J. Stroud under center.
This time around, Henry won't be facing defensive end Jonathan Greenard, a key piece in the Texans' run defense. Will Anderson is banged up but playing through injury, while several other players on Houston's defense are either questionable or out in the linebacking corps and secondary. When the Titans score, they funnel it through Henry or wideout DeAndre Hopkins, due to a top-heavy offensive roster.
Will Henry dud against the Texans twice in three weeks? Unlikely. He logged 19-88-1 against Seattle last week, and will look to build off of that momentum against a Houston defense that just surrendered over 400 yards to Cleveland in Week 16, including two rushing touchdowns in the red zone. Henry is a nice value at -125 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, so let's stake two units on him to hit pay dirt and play spoiler for the Texans' playoff aspirations.
SAQUON BARKLEY ANYTIME TD SCORER (-115) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
Moving to Tyrod Taylor at quarterback should only help Giants' star running back Saquon Barkley, as the two have looked good together in games against Washington and Philadelphia. In these two starts with Taylor under center, Barkley has scored three touchdowns. There aren't many options in the Giants' offense outside of Barkley, plus Los Angeles is more stout defending the pass than against the run.
As long as Barkley continues to earn 20-plus carries and four to six targets against the Rams, he'll be in a great position to score. Darren Waller's return should help the Giants move the football, resulting in Barkley being used as a wideout or a ball carrier in the red zone, where he's tough to contain. The Rams haven't allowed a running back to score since Jerome Ford caught a pass back in Week 14, but Barkely's elite usage creates value on his -115 anytime touchdown scorer odds.
Let's stake a unit on Barkley to score his ninth touchdown of the 2023 season in a home game against the Rams during Sunday's 1 p.m. ET slate.
BRANDON AIYUK ANYTIME TD SCORER (+110) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
We may as well blindfold ourselves when it comes to picking an anytime touchdown scorer from San Francisco's offense going up against the worst defense in the league in Week 17. After suffering a bad loss in prime time to Baltimore a week ago, expect Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan to be fully dialed in and aggressive early on the road against Washington.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has remained hot in the past few games, logging over 100 receiving yards against Seattle and Baltimore, but he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 13 against Philadelphia. Washington's secondary is much worse than the Eagles and that's saying something. The Commanders have given up 33 receiving touchdowns, allowing 6.9 yards per attempt, both bottom-two in the league.
Aiyuk has one of the deepest average depth of target stat lines in the league, averaging over 12 yards per target in six of his previous eight games played. Aiyuk is the definition of due, and at +110 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, we need to stake two units on the 49ers' deep threat to notch his seventh touchdown of the 2023 campaign.
TYREEK HILL ANYTIME TD SCORER (+100) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
Tyreek Hill is off the injury report and entering another huge game in Week 17, as Miami travels to Baltimore for an AFC showdown on Sunday afternoon.
The Dolphins' star wideout hasn't scored since Week 14, injuring his ankle against the Titans in Week 15. It's the longest slump of Hill's 2023 season in terms of touchdown droughts, as he's scored every other week until now. Expect Tua Tagovailoa to keep peppering Hill with targets downfield in Mike McDaniels' West Coast offense, even against an air-tight Ravens secondary.
Hill saw 14 targets against Dallas in Week 16, finishing with nine receptions for 99 yards. He's going to score in Week 17 in a game that has two great defenses and offenses, likely leading to a lot of back-and-forth scoring like we saw in this matchup a year ago. The fact we're getting even odds on Hill to score a touchdown is likely due to the absence of Raheem Mostert, who won't play due to injuries in Week 17.
Let's stake two units on Hill to score an anytime touchdown in a pivotal game for the AFC playoff race.
CHRIS GODWIN ANYTIME TD SCORER (+280) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
It's been the Mike Evans show all season for Tampa Bay, but Baker Mayfield has begun hyper-targeting Chris Godwin in recent weeks. Godwin has 10-12 targets in three consecutive games, and while this hasn't resulted in a touchdown scored, he'll face a porous Saints pass defense riddled with injuries at home on Sunday.
Godwin scored a rushing touchdown in Week 13 against Carolina. Prior to that touchdown, only his second of the year, the Bucs' WR2 had managed to score a receiving touchdown against Buffalo in Week 8. This is a great value play at +290 odds at FanDuel, as most bettors will likely be targeting Evans due to his touchdown tear that he's been on with Mayfield.
However, the Saints defense will be locked in on Evans, meaning Godwin should have plenty of room to operate. He's getting more volume than Evans, out targeting him in the red zone against Jacksonville last week, so expect Mayfield to find Godwin on an explosive or in the red zone to link up for six points and cash this lucrative +290 anytime touchdown prop in a key game to maintain a hold on the NFC South division.
