5 minDolphins vs. Chiefs Prediction, Pick, Odds: Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs Start Quest For Back-to-Back Super Bowls
The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled more than they have in any season under Patrick Mahomes. However, Kansas City might've lucked out after looking at the 2024 NFL Playoff bracket.
The Chiefs will face a Miami Dolphins team they already defeated in Germany earlier in the year. The Chiefs held Miami's potent offense to just 14 points in a 21-14 win.
With 11 wins through the first 15 games, the Dolphins lost their final two games and the AFC East title with losses to Baltimore and Buffalo. Miami lost those games by allowing a combined 77 points. The Dolphins didn't score more than 19 points in either of those two games.
It's been talked about all year. The Dolphins have struggled against teams above .500 this season. Will that continue against the Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card?
Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Saturday's game between the Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs.

Dolphins vs. Chiefs Prediction
The analytics point toward the Dolphins.
I'm usually not one to avoid the analytics, but let's be honest here. The Dolphins have dominated the bad teams and looked poor against the good ones. The domination of the bad teams has made their numbers a little skewed.
Miami just lost to the Bills at home, 21-14, in a game for the AFC East title. They also lost to the Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles, and the Bills in another game.
The only time the Dolphins won against a quality opponent was at home against the Cowboys. And we all know Dallas' struggles on the road this season.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have been in this spot before. They've escaped the first round multiple times, but overall, Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have found great success in the playoffs since Mahomes became the starter in Kansas City.
The Chiefs might not have the most impressive offense this season, but the defense has come on strong.
The Chiefs have only allowed 172.88 yards in the air and 112.94 yards on the ground. This is one of the best Kansas City defenses we've seen in the Mahomes era.
If the Chiefs can just be more consistent on offense and get Travis Kelce more involved, along with other receivers not named Kadarius Toney, the Chiefs have a legitimate chance at winning this game at home.
That also brings up another point. The Chiefs are at home in Kansas City. It won't be warm weather like Miami is used to. Instead, the game is projected to kick off with the temperature below 20 degrees. That also favors the Chiefs.
Miami's offense has been incredible this year. It's been super fun. But this offense also added just 14 points against the Chiefs in Germany. The offense has slowed down recently.
Grab the Chiefs at -3.5.
