Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions Prediction

This is one of the most intriguing first-round matchups for several reasons.

The first reason is the return of quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Stafford is the greatest quarterback in the Lions' history and means a lot to the city of Detroit.

Now Stafford can rain on the parade of the Detroit faithful.

The second notable storyline is that this will be the first home playoff game for the Lions since 1994.

It has been a long time since the city of Detroit has been able to celebrate a playoff win, but they are hopeful that will change tonight.

The Rams have been one of the hottest teams in football, winning seven of their last eight games.

Entering the season, the Rams were not seen as a playoff team.

Fast forward a few months, and the Rams are viewed as a legitimate threat to come out of the NFC.

Head coach Sean McVay deserves a ton of credit for the success that he has had with this roster.

Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua have been two surprising stars in this Rams offense.

Williams, who is in his second year out of Notre Dame, rushed for 1,144 yards, which ranked third in football.

Nacua broke the NFL record for most receiving yards by a rookie in a season (1,486).

The Rams offense ranks 8th in points per game (23.8).

Quarterback Jared Goff can hand his former team a loss today and get the city of Detroit their first playoff win in 30 years.

Goff, a former number-one overall pick of the Rams, will play this game with a point to prove.

The Lions claimed their first NFC North division championship since 1993.

The Lions are filled with playmakers on offense.

Two rookies to keep an eye on today will be Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta.

Gibbs rushed for 945 yards and ten touchdowns.

LaPorta racked up 889 yards and ten receiving touchdowns.

The Lions offense ranks 5th in points per game (27.1).

Let’s dive into my prop lock for tonight.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions Prop Pick

Williams has turned in an outstanding season, but this number is a tick too high.

The Lions have the second-best rushing defense in the NFL, allowing opponents 88.8 rush yards per game.

Detroit has been outstanding vs the run as of late, allowing opponents just 55.7 rush yards per game over their last three games. That is the best in football.

Lastly, I anticipate the Rams playing from behind, which means a negative game script.
