The 2024 Super Bowl is upon us, and everyone wants to know which stars will get in the end zone. Well fear not, OddsChecker NFL analyst Peter Alexis is here to beak down the best touchdown scorers for Sunday's Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS

Super Bowl 2024 Player Prop Picks: Top Anytime TD Scorer Bets for Chiefs vs. 49ers

The 2024 Super Bowl is ready to kickoff tonight in Las Vegas, and the world will be watching to see which stars can get it done on the biggest stage. The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to repeat as champions, and will be feeding targets to Travis Kelce. On the other side, the 49ers are in search of revenge from Super Bowl LIV, and will get the ball to their top four playmakers on offense.

For full disclosure before assessing these touchdown scorer props, I believe the Niners will have more touchdowns than the Chiefs, and ultimately win the Super Bowl. However, I have selected more Chiefs players to score in this write up, and that is simply for value purposes. The San Francisco 49ers have a big four on offense, including Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle. There aren't many other guys that score regularly for them, and all four of these are +175 odds or less. McCaffrey is highly likely to score, especially if the Niners are having their way on offense. But we won't be taking him on -225 odds because there is no true value there as a single.

With this value explanation in mind, let's check out the stars we will be sprinkling on to score touchdowns on Sunday night. They may not all find the end zone, but it is set up to find profitability in this market by selecting those who get the most targets and have a higher chance to score than their implied odds may indicate.

Super Bowl Sunday Top Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bets

Deebo Samuel (+150) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

The San Francisco 49ers will be bringing their top offensive weapons to the Super Bowl at full strength. Deebo Samuel left the NFC divisional round with a shoulder injury, and played banged up in the NFC Championship. He didn't get his full amount of touches due to that precaution, but the training wheels will be off on Sunday night. Deebo hasn't scored in three games due to these assorted injury issues, so he'll be going full steam towards the end zone to snap that drought in Las Vegas.

Deebo's had two weeks to rest up, and should be fully ready to go for kickoff. He's going to get a heavy dose of touches from head coach Kyle Shanahan, who knows all about his big play ability. The targets will come both through the air and on the ground, and he has a chance to get a touchdown from either method. That's why we are selecting him over Kittle and Aiyuk, because they won't have as many pure chances in Shanahan's dynamic offense.

Travis Kelce (+105) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

This may be one of the most popular bets of the weekend, but at the end of the day, it is the Super Bowl. Kelce scored last year against the Eagles, and in 2020 against the Niners. The only Super Bowl that he didn't score in was in 2021 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the Chiefs simply couldn't find the end zone in that one. He had 10 catches for 133 yards regardless, which is about as good of a game that you can have for a team with only three field goals.

We don't like to ride with the public, but Kelce is on a heater right now. Mahomes will feed him the ball when they are behind, and he's his most reliable target. They've been here many times before and know how to get it done on the biggest stage. Kelce has scored three times in the last two games, and no matter how well they cover him, Mahomes will find his top target in the red zone before the day is over.

Patrick Mahomes (+450) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Patrick Mahomes has zero rushing touchdowns this year. Not a single one. He had four last season, three each in the previous two years, and four in 2020. These prior stats also included a touchdown in the Chiefs vs. Niners Super Bowl LIV.

Mahomes has had plenty of teams with more weapons over the years, but still ran a decent amount. He has reduced his rushing attempts to avoid injury, and will no longer participate in QB sneaks. So he won't get a rushing touchdown the same way Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts will. However, this is the Super Bowl. With the game on the line in the red zone, Mahomes is always a threat to escape the pocket with his legs if he has to. He isn't the fastest quarterback, but he can dodge rushers and wiggle his way in for a touchdown on a roll out.

Noah Gray (+1000) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Noah Gray is our longshot scorer, and also more of an insurance option for Travis Kelce. We will only be sprinkling 0.2 units on this, but it has more than enough return on investment. Noah Gray is a good TE2 option for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, and scores a touchdown every now and again. If Kelce is blanketed or double covered in the end zone, Gray will be the available outlet for Mahomes in the two tight end sets.

Gray is also starting to heat up in the playoffs, he had five targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Ravens. Mahomes is looking his way, and they are connecting when needed. He has six catches in the playoffs total, with a long of 12 yards. He will be used heavily in short yardage goal-to-go setups, and has a chance to leak into the end zone when the defense is occupied with Kelce.
