Not only is the NFL back, but we have an absolutely stacked matchup in front of us to kick off the season as the Baltimore Ravens take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of the AFC Championship Game.

Do we know what either of these teams will look like in 2024? No, we don't. But that's not going to stop us from betting on them like we do. There's only one way to shake all the offseason betting rust off and that's to jump in feet first. So, that's exactly what I'm doing with my DraftKings Pick6 picks for tonight's game.

We have a five-pick entry tonight that is estimated to pay out a $50 bet with $527 if we get all five correct and $67 if four out of the five picks hit.

Pick 1: Travis Kelce over 0.5 touchdowns

Let's get the chalk out of the way early. I'm taking Travis Kelce to find the endzone on Thursday night. I know, not very creative, but you don't always need to reinvent the wheel to win bets.

Travis Kelce has scored a TD in his first game of the season in four straight years and I think that continues tonight. This is going to be a tight one and Mahomes is going to look to his favorite target to try and get him out of some jams.

Pick 2: Lamar Jackson under 31.5 passing attempts

Lamar Jackson is one of the best QBs in the NFL and is likely the most dynamic and explosive player we've ever seen. However, he's at his best when he doesn't need to drop back 40+ times a night and sling it. The Ravens know this and I think we'll get a heavy dose of the run game as a result.

Jackson has never gone over this number in the first game of the season and that continues tonight. The Ravens will hand the ball off to Derick Henry a bunch and let him go to work

Pick 3: Patrick Mahomes over 0.5 interceptions

Patrick Mahomes is the best football player on the planet. However, he also threw a career-high 14 interceptions last year. He threw a pick in all but five games in 2023 and I think he gets off to another slow start tonight.

Unlike most teams, the Chiefs use the regular season to warm up for the postseason. They don't always come out sharp because they don't need to. I like Mahomes to make at least one mistake tonight.

Pick 4: Derrick Henry over 65.5 rushing yards

We already covered this a bit earlier, but I expect a heavy dose of the run game from Baltimore tonight. While Henry is nearing the back nine of his career, he's still the Ravens' shiny new toy and he's going to get big touches tonight.

Working behind a good offensive line, Henry should get close to that 100-yard mark. All we need to go over here is 66 and we'll get that for sure.

Pick 5: Harrison Butker over 7.5 kicking points

I expect the Ravens to win outright tonight and I think that happens because the Chiefs' offense will struggle to find a rhythm early in the year. But, they're entirely too talented to not put up points. Chiefs should move the ball decently but will have to settle for field goals against one of the best defenses in football. Butker could be looking at a 3 FG night. I love this one to close out the Pick6.
