Cincinnati and Philadelphia kick off at 8:00 PM ET, with the Eagles favored by 2.5 points and the total set at 36.5. The Bengals enter off their strongest preseason performance, while Philadelphia tries to finish August with a cleaner showing at home.
Cincinnati fell to 6-11 last season and missed the playoffs for a third consecutive year. Philadelphia went 11-6, won the NFC East and entered the postseason as the defending Super Bowl champion before San Francisco eliminated it 23-19 in the Wild Card round.
Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and the rest of Cincinnati's regular starters will sit. Burrow received his desired preseason work earlier in August, while Chase is also coming off a minor knee hyperextension that makes exposing him Friday completely unnecessary.

Bengals vs. Eagles Prediction
That leaves Josh Johnson and Sean Clifford to run the Bengals' offense. Cincinnati's reserves were excellent in a 27-9 victory over Chicago last week, but the quarterback matchup becomes more difficult against Philadelphia.
The Eagles can turn to Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton if Jalen Hurts is held out as expected. Dalton brings more than a decade of NFL starting experience, while McKee continues to look like a legitimate long-term backup capable of operating the full offense rather than a stripped-down preseason package.
Philadelphia lost 24-21 to New England last weekend, but the score was less concerning than the opportunity it provided to evaluate the quarterback room. The Eagles have tremendous roster depth at several positions and still have enough unresolved battles to keep the second unit highly competitive Friday.
Cincinnati deserves credit for playing better this preseason, and the Bengals' defense looked much improved against Chicago. The problem is that the players responsible for creating their regular-season offensive ceiling are specifically the ones sitting this game out.
Bengals vs. Eagles Pick
- Pick: Eagles -2.5 (-110) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
The spread is short enough to trust Philadelphia's reserve quarterback advantage. McKee and Dalton are a stronger four-quarter combination than Johnson and Clifford, and that becomes more important than the regular-season records once the first whistle blows.
