Atlanta and Miami kick off at 7:00 PM ET at Hard Rock Stadium, with the Falcons favored by 3.5 points and a total of 36.5. Atlanta is 1-1 after a dominant performance last weekend, while Miami is 0-2 and has scored only 10 total points.
Both missed the playoffs last season. Atlanta went 8-9 for a second consecutive year before replacing Raheem Morris with Kevin Stefanski, while Miami finished 7-10 and eventually moved on from Mike McDaniel. The offseason then created one of Friday's strangest storylines, with former Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa now leading Atlanta.

Falcons vs. Dolphins Prediction
Tagovailoa will start against his former team. Atlanta intends to treat the game like a dress rehearsal and give different starters varying amounts of work, although Michael Penix Jr. will remain out after only recently returning to full-team practice.
The advantage does not disappear once Tua leaves. Cooper Rush and rookie Jack Strand have provided excellent quarterback play, with Strand throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns in last week's 34-6 destruction of Indianapolis. Atlanta outgained the Colts 461-164 and looked considerably sharper than it did in its opening 27-7 loss to Denver.
Miami has been at the opposite end of the spectrum. The Dolphins lost 20-7 to Washington and then 26-3 to the Giants, managing only 102 total yards last weekend. Their reserve offense has provided almost no evidence that it can consistently sustain drives.
Malik Willis is expected to enter the regular season atop Miami's quarterback depth chart, but this finale should feature plenty of Quinn Ewers, Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski. Ewers has been working back from a groin injury, and none of the reserve options has separated enough to make Miami's second-half offense particularly trustworthy.
This is exactly the type of preseason matchup where starter usage matters. Atlanta should have its best available offense on the field early and then transition to a quarterback group that dominated last week. Miami has struggled regardless of which unit has played.

The spread requires Atlanta to win by more than a field goal, but the Falcons have advantages in both the opening portion and the reserve portion of the game. Miami needs to show it can generate offense before receiving this much respect against a team approaching the finale much more aggressively.
