Seahawks vs. Chiefs Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest NFL Preseason Odds for Friday, August 28th
The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday in a preseason finale that will look nothing like a regular-season heavyweight matchup. Seattle is turning the entire game over to Jalen Milroe, while Kansas City will rest Patrick Mahomes and give rookie Garrett Nussmeier an extended opportunity.

Seattle and Kansas City kick off at 8:00 PM ET at Arrowhead Stadium, with the Chiefs favored by 1.5 points and the total sitting at only 33.5. Both teams are 0-2 this preseason despite entering 2026 from radically different positions.
Seattle went 14-3 last season, earned the NFC's No. 1 seed and beat New England 29-13 in Super Bowl LX. Kansas City shockingly collapsed to 6-11, missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014 and lost Mahomes to a season-ending ACL injury late in the year.
Mahomes will not play Friday and his regular-season recovery remains the much larger concern. Nussmeier is expected to start, and with Chris Oladokun dealing with a concussion, the seventh-round rookie could receive an enormous share of Kansas City's quarterback snaps.

Seahawks vs. Chiefs Prediction
Nussmeier has been conservative through two games, completing 22 of 36 passes for 172 yards without a touchdown or interception. Kansas City lost 20-12 to the Rams and 16-15 to Tampa Bay, meaning both of its preseason games have finished with 32 points or fewer.
Seattle has been similarly limited offensively and is sitting its regular starters again. Mike Macdonald has announced that Milroe will play the entire game, giving the second-year quarterback four quarters to prove he can command the offense.
That sounds attractive until considering how Milroe has performed. He has completed only 11 of 19 passes for 88 yards across two games, thrown two interceptions and taken five sacks. Seattle lost 17-7 to Dallas and 19-16 to Tennessee, with Milroe struggling badly during the second half of the latter matchup.
A full game with one quarterback creates continuity, but it also means Seattle cannot escape the matchup if Milroe continues hesitating in the pocket. Kansas City's offense will be similarly limited with Nussmeier, reserve offensive linemen and most established weapons either sitting or receiving very little work.
Seahawks vs. Chiefs Pick
- Pick: Under 33.5 Total Points (-110) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
The total is low, but every piece of the playing-time plan explains why. Three of these teams' four combined preseason games have stayed below 33.5, and neither quarterback has produced a passing touchdown yet. Another defensive, field-position-heavy game makes the under the best approach.
