Argonauts vs. Roughriders Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest CFL Odds for Saturday, August 29th
Toronto and Saskatchewan meet Saturday night in Regina in a rematch of one of the highest-scoring games of the CFL season. The Argonauts won the first meeting and enter with better recent form, but Saskatchewan returns home desperate to prevent a two-game skid from becoming its first three-game losing streak since 2024.

Toronto and Saskatchewan kick off at 7:00 PM ET at Mosaic Stadium, with the Roughriders favored by 3.5 points and the total at 62.5. Saskatchewan enters at 6-4 after consecutive losses, while Toronto has reached 5-5 by winning three of its last four games.
The Roughriders' slump has been ugly offensively. Saskatchewan scored just 19 points in its loss to Hamilton and 16 in last week's 30-16 defeat against BC. Trevor Harris has thrown four interceptions across those two games after playing much cleaner football through the opening portion of the season.

Argonauts vs. Roughriders Prediction
That is exactly why the return home matters. Saskatchewan has not dropped three straight games since 2024 and remains second in the West despite the recent slide. Mosaic Stadium provides a much different environment than the two road losses, and the Riders still have one of the league's strongest defensive fronts.
Toronto is dangerous enough to punish another sloppy performance. Chad Kelly leads an Argonauts passing attack averaging 347.1 yards per game, and Toronto added another element last week when rookie Isaiah Smith rushed for 99 yards in the 39-20 victory over Hamilton. The Argos generated a season-high 145 rushing yards as a team.
Saskatchewan is unusually well equipped to answer that adjustment. The Riders rank second in the CFL against the run at only 78.2 yards allowed per game, potentially forcing Toronto back toward the more aggressive passing approach that has also created turnovers. Kelly's willingness to push the ball downfield produces explosive plays but continues to give opposing secondaries chances.
The first meeting is also a revenge spot. Toronto won 40-36 in Saskatchewan back in Week 4 despite allowing the Roughriders to generate 475 yards of offense. Saskatchewan moved the ball well enough to win that game and now gets another chance to clean up the mistakes that decided it.
Samuel Emilus landing on the six-game injured list hurts the Riders, but KeeSean Johnson and Dhel Duncan-Busby remain productive and newly acquired Shemar Bridges is set to debut. Saskatchewan has enough weapons around Harris to bounce back if the veteran returns to his normal turnover-averse level.

Toronto is playing better football right now, but this is a strong buy-low point on a Saskatchewan team that was one of the CFL's best through the first half of the season. The Riders return home after two road losses, own the defensive front needed to disrupt Toronto's newfound balance and should finally get a cleaner performance from Harris.
