Chargers vs. Bills Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest NFL Week 3 Odds for Sunday, September 27th

The Los Angeles Chargers travel to Buffalo desperate to avoid an 0-3 start against a Bills team that has produced two straight offensive shootouts. Can Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey finally unlock Los Angeles' offense enough to trade touchdowns with Josh Allen and the NFL's hottest scoring attack? Check out this Chargers vs. Bills prediction and best bet for Sunday, September 27.

Chargers vs. Bills Prediction: Do Justin Herbert, Chargers Stand a Chance Against Bills in Week 3 After Slow Start?

The Chargers visit the Bills at 1:00 PM ET on FOX, with Buffalo favored by 7 and the total sitting at 50. Los Angeles is playing its first road game after opening with consecutive 26-14 home losses.

Buffalo has gone in the opposite direction, beating Houston 36-31 before defeating Detroit 41-31 in the first regular-season game at the new Highmark Stadium. Allen has accounted for nine touchdowns without throwing an interception through two weeks.

Chargers vs. Bills Recent Results

Los Angeles Chargers (0-2)

The Chargers lost 26-14 to Arizona and then produced the exact same score against Las Vegas. Herbert briefly gave Los Angeles a third-quarter lead against the Raiders before two fourth-quarter turnovers ended the comeback attempt.

McConkey and Rashawn Slater are cleared to play, which is significant for an offense needing a rebound. However, right tackle Trey Pipkins III, guard Kayode Awosika, tight end Charlie Kolar and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson are among six Chargers ruled out.

Buffalo Bills (2-0)

Buffalo has scored 77 points through two games. Allen followed a four-touchdown performance in Houston with five more against Detroit, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 69 yards and two scores.

James Cook added 135 rushing yards and a touchdown against Detroit, while Dalton Kincaid produced 95 receiving yards. Buffalo has shown it can attack vertically, through Allen's legs or with a conventional running game depending on what the defense takes away.

Chargers vs. Bills Line Movement and Betting Splits

The spread opened and remains around Buffalo -7. The Bills are attracting 76% of spread wagers and 69% of the handle, a heavily backed favorite without meaningful movement away from the key touchdown number.

The total has also held at 50, but the betting split strongly favors the Over. It has only 55% of tickets yet 83% of the handle, suggesting the average Over wager has been significantly larger.

Chargers vs. Bills Prediction

Buffalo has made totals difficult to price because Allen is playing at an MVP level. The Bills have scored 36 and 41 points while generating offense through completely different combinations of explosive passes, quarterback runs and Cook's rushing efficiency.

Los Angeles has not held up its end offensively, but this is a better setup than the first two games suggest. McConkey is fully cleared from his rib issue, Slater is available at left tackle and Herbert remains talented enough to punish a Buffalo secondary that has already given up 31 points twice.

The Chargers' offensive line remains imperfect with Pipkins out, but Herbert does not need to match Allen statistically for four quarters. Los Angeles simply needs to reach the low 20s for an Over 50 to become very attainable.

Buffalo has shown virtually no interest in slowing games down once Allen finds favorable matchups. The Bills scored touchdowns on five of their first six possessions against Detroit, building a 21-0 lead before forcing the Lions into a high-volume passing script.

That type of early Buffalo success would actually help the Over. Los Angeles' preferred balanced approach has produced only 14 points in each game, but a two-score deficit forces Herbert and Mike McDaniel to increase pace and passing volume.

Buffalo has several defensive injury concerns as well. Jordan Hancock and T.J. Sanders are out, while Ed Oliver is questionable. That gives the Chargers a better opportunity to generate the interior rushing and intermediate passing production missing from their first two games.

There is still a path where Buffalo controls the game and the Chargers remain stuck in the teens. The stronger probability, however, is that another Allen-led offensive outburst eventually forces Herbert into the type of aggressive response needed to push this beyond 50.

Chargers vs. Bills Best Bet

Buffalo has scored 77 points through two games and allowed 62, producing combined totals of 67 and 72. Allen's current form makes another Bills performance in the 30s a reasonable baseline.

The wager depends on Los Angeles finally contributing more than 14, but getting McConkey and Slater cleared provides a better offensive setup. Buffalo can do most of the heavy lifting while Herbert supplies enough response scoring to get the matchup into the 50s.
