The matchup creates an unusual totals profile. Kansas City has scored 64 points through two games and leads the league in total offense, but Miami has scored exactly 13 points in each of its first two games while allowing Malik Willis to absorb constant pressure.

Kansas City opened with a 31-10 win over Denver before surviving Indianapolis 33-30 in overtime. The Chiefs generated 523 yards against the Colts, with Mahomes throwing for 382 yards and Walker posting nearly 180 scrimmage yards for the second consecutive week.
Walker leads the NFL with 290 rushing yards and 369 yards from scrimmage. Mahomes has 566 passing yards, five touchdowns and a 103.8 passer rating through two games, although starting left tackle Josh Simmons remains out Sunday.
Miami Dolphins (0-2)
Miami lost 27-13 to Las Vegas and 35-13 to San Francisco, leaving the Dolphins with only 26 points through two games. Willis has been pressured on 43.1% of his dropbacks and sacked an NFL-high nine times.
Miami also enters with the league's youngest roster and will be without rookie receiver Caleb Douglas. De'Von Achane remains the most dangerous offensive piece, but game script has limited Miami's ability to consistently feature the running game.

Chiefs vs. Dolphins Line Movement and Betting Splits
Kansas City opened around -10.5 before settling closer to -10 and -9.5 across the broader market. The Chiefs have 66% of spread bets and 78% of the handle, so most of the market still expects Kansas City to control the game despite the small move toward Miami.
The total has stayed at 45.5, but the split is notable. The Under has only a narrow 51% majority of wagers yet commands 77% of the handle, while the Over holds 49% of bets but only 23% of the money.

Kansas City's offense is the obvious danger to an Under. Mahomes and Walker have transformed a unit that became too dependent on drop-back passing last season, and the Chiefs now have one of football's most effective play-action games.
That balance can actually help the Under once Kansas City establishes control. Walker has rushed for 290 yards in two games, giving Andy Reid little reason to push tempo or ask Mahomes to throw 40-plus times against an opponent the Chiefs are favored to beat comfortably.
Miami's scoring outlook is far more concerning. Willis has been under pressure on more than 43% of his dropbacks, and Kansas City's front is capable of creating disruption without sending reckless pressure. Another game with four or five sacks would make sustained Miami drives extremely difficult.
Achane is the player who can break the handicap. Miami needs to keep the game close enough to repeatedly feed him rather than falling behind and abandoning the run. Yet a heavy Achane workload would also drain clock and reduce total possessions.
The Chiefs have allowed more scoring than desired at times, including 30 against Indianapolis, but Miami is a much less developed passing offense. The Dolphins lack the same protection, quarterback experience and receiving depth the Colts used to threaten Kansas City vertically.
A double-digit Kansas City lead also creates a favorable late-game script. The Chiefs can lean into Walker, short completions and field position rather than continuing to hunt explosive plays deep into the fourth quarter.
Kansas City may score 30 by itself, but this Under can still cash if Miami remains in the low teens. A 30-13 or 31-13 result fits both teams' early-season profiles and stays beneath 45.5.

Miami has produced 13 points in each of its first two games and now faces a defense capable of exploiting its biggest weakness in pass protection. The Dolphins need a major efficiency jump simply to contribute enough scoring to force a shootout.
Kansas City's improved running game is the other piece. Walker gives the Chiefs a way to dominate Miami while simultaneously shortening the game, creating a strong path to a comfortable win that still stays Under.
