Houston Roughnecks vs. Arlington Renegades Prediction

Houston was ultra-impressive in their week one win when they beat the Guardians 33-12. They will look to turn in a similar performance tonight and remain undefeated on the young season. The quarterback for the Roughnecks in Week 1 was former Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers. Silvers was extremely impressive, and it felt like every time Houston touched the football last week, it ended in some kind of point. The Roughnecks also used former Hawaii standout Cole McDonald in wildcat packages.

Arlington, meanwhile, will also look to remain unbeaten tonight. Arlington played the first game of the XFL season last Saturday in a game that was a thriller. The Renegades ended up winning the game 22-20 as they stopped the Vipers on a two-point conversion on the game's final play. Drew Plitt led Arlington last week, and he is slated to do the same tonight in a game that should be highly entertaining. Houston comes into this game as the largest favorite of the young XFL season at -5.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. 

I am going to back the dog tonight and here is why. I love this Roughnecks team, and as you all know, I am a die-hard Roughnecks fan as of two weeks ago, but this line is inflated based on their week one performance. Houston did dominate the game but that was also facing one of the worst teams in the league. This will be a much more difficult challenge, and with all the conversion rules that the XFL has, 5.5 feels like a ton of points. I will ride the dog in this spot tonight. Let’s cash in!
