WM Phoenix Open Betting Picks: Can Justin Thomas Impress at Scottsdale?

This Thursday the PGA Tour is in Scottsdale, Arizona, for the WM Phoenix Open. I am stoked for this event and can't wait to get into my favorite plays.

WM PHOENIX OPEN DATE, START TIME, AND WHERE TO WATCH

  • Date: February 8-11, 2024
  • Where: TPC Scottsdale (Stadium Course), Scottsdale, Arizona
  • Where to Watch: ESPN+, Golf Channel, NBC

WM PHOENIX Open Prediction

Give me the chalk, I don't care. There is zero reason to not take Justin Thomas here at the threshold price of -150 when he is playing the way he is. Thomas finished T6 at Pebble last week after the tournament was called after 54 holes due to weather. Since missing the playoffs by if I remember correctly just a stoke, Thomas has had a fire burning inside of him and the two-time major winner has been nails ever since.

In his last five starts at the WM Phoenix Open, Thomas has finished solo fourth, T8, T13, T3 and solo third. That track record would make me want to back him regardless of recent form so the way he has been playing lately is just further justification.

Despite the fantastic play, Thomas has yet to re-enter the winners circle since he won his second PGA Championship on May 22nd, 2022. I feel like the momentum he has built heading into the real of the tour here is massive and he will ride it to a victory in this next month, or has a terrific opportunity too.

All golfers try to peak around the four majors but the elite class try to stay in form across that four-five month stretch that starts here. The WM Phoenix Open, Genesis Invitational, The Players and The Masters are all in the next seven weeks. It is go time for the big dogs and JT is hunting.
