2025 Truist Championship DFS Breakdown
Key Factors for Success
- Driving Distance: Bombers can thrive here, out-hitting any tricky portions of the fairway and setting up for a nice approach.
- Strokes Gained Putting and Distance Putting: Putting could be a bit tricky with undulating greens, and birdie opportunities won’t be gimmes.
- Strokes Gained Approach: The greens are surrounded by bunkers. While hitting the bunkers isn’t tragic, avoiding them and strategically placing your shots on the greens will help.
Truist Championship DraftKings DFS Picks
PGA DFS Core Lineup
- Rory McIlroy ($12,000): McIlroy is the highest-priced golfer by $1,500 this week, and rightfully so. His 2025 has been spectacular, and he’s the perfect fit for this course.
- Xander Schauffele ($10,200): You may need to treat this as a “split core” because of the difficulty in combining him with McIlroy, but I’d be remiss not to emphasize Schauffele’s upside this week. He’s finally healthy and has three straight top-20 finishes. His tee-to-green and approach are in impeccable form - another strong course fit.
- Min Woo Lee ($8,200): This core leans into bombers, and Lee fits the build. His driving distance can mitigate any accuracy issues, and his putting can be a difference-maker.
PGA DFS Value Plays
- Tom Hoge ($6,700): If Hoge can be strategic off the tee, he can thrive through his short game. Over the past five tournaments, he’s gained over three strokes on the field in both approach and putting.
- Gary Woodland ($6,300): Be cautious! Woodland withdrew from last week’s tournament with a back injury. You’ll need to monitor his status, but that could also drive low ownership and his fit for the course is excellent.
- Erik Van Rooyen ($6,200): Van Rooyen has been on a mini-heater recently with two top-10 finishes since March, including a runner-up finish last week. His distance and recent approach play fit the course.
PGA DFS Additional Plays
- Rasmus Hojgaard ($7,000): Hojgaard’s past four outings have been steady after a rough stretch. It hasn’t been flashy. However, he could be on the cusp of a breakthrough.
- Keith Mitchell ($7,400): Cashmere Keith took a trip to Punta Cana and had an excellent T2 showing. His off-the-tee and tee-to-green have been excellent, and his putting has been surprisingly solid.
- Jordan Spieth ($9,200): Spieth is coming in hot off the best final round (62) of the field last week, with four straight top-20 finishes and has a strong course fit.
- Viktor Hovland ($9,100): He’s got the distance. The pricing is solid. He’s back on track and hot. What more could you ask for?
- Wyndham Clark ($7,900): Clark’s 2025 has been fine, just underwhelming after a strong 2024. His $7K range pricing is appealing with reasonable ownership.
