PGA DFS Picks for 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge: Experts High on Scottie Scheffler, Aaron Rai
With the PGA Championship behind us, the Tour heads back to Texas this week for the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club.
In stark contrast to last week at Quail Hollow, the Colonial is a Par 70, measuring around 7,200 yards. It requires precision rather than distance and power. The cut line is T65 and ties, so lineup construction should lean heavily on course fit.

2025 Charles Schwab Challenge DFS Breakdown
Key Factors for Success at Colonial Country Club
- Fairways Gained: Driving accuracy and precision are a requirement with narrow fairways, lined with trees.
- Strokes Gained Approach: Long iron play is a strong indicator of success at this course. Bombers are neutralized here, and excellent approach is the main path to success.
- Strokes Gained Putting: Small and tricky greens require strong putting or the ability to get hot. An inconsistent putter can do well, but winning is highly unlikely.
Charles Schwab Challenge DraftKings DFS Picks
PGA DFS Core Lineup
- Scottie Scheffler ($13,700): Scheffler is a machine. Winner-fatigue is real…for everyone not named Scottie Scheffler. Recall his 2024 5 tournament stretch with four wins and a second-place finish.
- Aaron Rai ($9,100): Rai is a perfect course fit. He’s the top golfer in the field on fairways gained over the last 24 rounds, and his approach is excellent. We’d prefer stronger putting stats, but he’s adequate and can get hot.
- Henrik Norlander ($6,800): Norlander’s history at this event isn’t impressive, but he’s second in the field on approach over the past 24 rounds. His driving accuracy is strong, and his putting is in good form.
PGA DFS Value Plays
- Nico Echavarria ($7,000): Echavarria’s recent form has been volatile, but the overall trend is up on putting, approach and driving accuracy.
- Sami Valimaki ($6,900): We swung and missed on Valimaki last week, but that was a character-building experience. This course is a far better fit, and Valimaki’s consistent approach and putting should carry him here.
- Brian Campbell ($6,400): Campbell’s numbers often look a bit shaky because he has zero driving distance. However, his strengths in approach, putting and accuracy off the tee are perfect for this course.
PGA DFS Additional Plays
- Daniel Berger ($9,900): Berger has been lights out in tee to green, with masterful work in fairways gained and approach. The only flaw in his game is inconsistent putting.
- Si Woo Kim ($8,900): Yet another problematic putter…Kim nails all other requirements for the course, but he’s coming off a fantastic performance at Quail Hollow, where he gained nearly seven strokes putting.
- Davis Riley ($8,600): Our defending champion comes in with excellent form and a T2 finish at the PGA Championship.
- Lucas Glover ($8,100): We’re taking a leap of faith here. Glover’s course history here is excellent and his driving accuracy is superb, but his putting has become a liability again. Perhaps familiarity with the course can get his putter back on track.
- Ryo Hisatsune ($7,100): Hisatsune’s approach and driving accuracy are solid, and he’s on quite a hot streak with putting.
- Others: Maverick McNealy ($9,500), J.T. Poston ($9,400), JJ Spaun ($8,400), Harry Hall ($8,000), Akshay Bhatia ($8,000), Ryan Gerard ($7,900), Bud Cauley ($7,800), Tom Hoge ($7,400)
PGA Championship Betting Picks
- Outright Winner: Aaron Rai (+3000), Daniel Berger (+2200)

- Top 10 Finish: Akshay Bhatia (+450), Lucas Glover (+450)
