PGA DFS Picks for 2025 RBC Canadian Open: Experts High on Rory McIlroy, Corey Conners at TPC Toronto

It’s time to switch gears from the smaller field signature event to the 156-player field at the Canadian Open! We often talk about course history to build player pools, but the Canadian Open is at TPC Toronto this year. This is the course’s first time hosting a PGA event. Course-fit and recent form will be the most critical factors in our builds this week.

TPC Toronto is a 7,389-yard Par-70 course with a T65 and ties cut. The course features wide fairways, limited hazards and the greens are a mix of bent grass and poa.

2025 Canadian Open DFS Breakdown

Key Factors for Success at TPC Toronto Osprey Valley

  • Strokes Gained Approach and Par 4 Scoring: The course has just two Par 5s and features 12 lengthy Par 4s. Excellence with long irons is the most critical aspect this week.
  • Driving Distance: Wide fairways offer room for error, so it’s possible to bomb your way through the course. Golfers who struggle with accuracy but offer strong distance could have an advantage here.
  • Strokes Gained Off-the-Tee: Bombers might have an advantage here, but don’t underestimate the value of solid accuracy off-the-tee. Look for excellent ball-strikers who can combine solid off-the-tee with a strong approach.

RBC Canadian Open DraftKings DFS Picks

PGA DFS Core Lineup

  • Rory McIlroy ($11,900): McIlroy is $1,400 higher than the next highest player. While he’s been wildly disappointing since his Masters win, we’re not fading McIlroy this week.
  • Luke Clanton ($9,000): Clanton is making his official PGA professional debut with a big featured group pairing with McIlroy and Luvig Aberg. Clanton’s had multiple top-20 performances and is in all-around excellent form.
  • Gary Woodland ($7,700): Woodland is coming off a T11 finish at the Charles Schwab. His distance should be an advantage this week. The course is friendly to his accuracy struggles off this tee, and he’s spiking recently in the exact key factors for success here.

PGA DFS Value Plays

  • Ricky Castillo ($7,200): Castillo might be the most well-rounded value play of the week. He’s solid across the board with enough distance for the course and an excellent approach game.
  • Emiliano Grillo ($7,100): Grillo has been strong off the tee and with long irons, plus he’s shown well in spike putting.
  • Alejandro Tosti ($7,100): When the course calls for bombers, we call on Tosti. He’s 11th in the field in distance and has been solid in approach. His putting is a major issue, but his done well recently on Poa.
  • Antoine Rozner ($6,900): I love a good $6K value play, but the field is a bit…different this week. Rozner is a good compromise and has had decent showings at Tour events recently.

PGA DFS Additional Plays

  • Ludvig Aberg ($10,500): Aberg bounced back at the Memorial, but his inconsistency and volatility have been wildly frustrating. Still, it’s tough to pass up Aberg and his distance as a strong contrarian option.
  • Chris Gotterup ($8,300): Gotterup is coming in hot off qualifying for the US Open. He’s got the distance. He’s been a bit inconsistent on a week-to-week basis, but has had several strong recent top-30 performances.
  • Davis Riley ($7,900): Riley is coming off a shocking and disappointing missed cut at the Charles Schwab, but before that, Riley was on quite a hot streak. We’ve got a nice dip in salary on a great bounce back course.
  • Corey Conners ($10,100): Regardless of the location, Conners has shown well at the Canadian Open in recent years, and his approach remains his strongest asset.
  • Others: Robert Macintyre ($9,800), Taylor Pendrith ($9,600), Matti Schmid ($7,500), Keith Mitchell ($9,100), Shane Lowry ($9,900), Jake Knapp ($7,800)

Canadian Open Betting Picks

  • Outright Winner: Taylor Pendrith (+2800), Corey Conners (+2000)
  • Top 5 Finish: Luke Clanton (+700), Shane Lowry (+360)
  • Top 10 Finish: Gary Woodland (+500), Chris Gotterup (+450)
  • Top 20 Finish: Jake Knapp (+260), Matti Schmid (+250)
