Fresh off the U.S. Open, we’ve got the Travelers Championship, a no-cut signature event with a field of 72 golfers. TPC River Highlands hosts the tournament and brings a different challenge than we’ve seen in recent weeks. The course is short - just over 6,800 yards - and there’s no distance advantage so we’re looking for precision golfers this week.

2025 Travelers Championship Breakdown
Key Factors for Success at TPC River Highlands
- Approach: This is by far, the most critical aspect above all. If a player is struggling with approach, look the other way.
- Par 4s 400-450: The Par 5s and short Par 4s are very getable. Seven of the Par 4s are in the 400-450 range. This is where top performers separate.
- Putting: At the very least, you need to have the ability to get hot on poa/bentgrass greens.
Travelers Championship DraftKings DFS Picks
PGA DFS Core Lineup
- Xander Schauffele ($10,800): Schauffele offers strong recent form and consistency, has excellent course history and finished in the top-20 every year he’s participated outside of 2018.
- Keegan Bradley ($8,500): Bradley’s course history here isn’t perfect, but the ceiling is a win in 2023 and a T2 finish in 2019. Putting is the clear determining factor to his success here, and his putting has been in good form over the past two tournaments.
- Akshay Bhatia ($7,400): Bhatia’s form has been a mess since April, but he’s been on an upward trend. Bhatia’s strength in approach and putting should suit him well here where he finished T5 in 2024.
PGA DFS Value Plays
- Ryan Fox ($7,000): Fox has been on fire over the past two months, including a win at the Canadian Open, and his ball striking in particular has been excellent.
- Bud Cauley ($6,800): Dipping into the $6K range is only truly required for Scottie Scheffler and Cauley remains our $6K king. Cauley missed the U.S. Open cut by just two strokes after a rough Round 2, but we will persevere.
- Additional $6K Options: Tom Hoge ($6,800), Andrew Novak ($6,700), Christiaan Bezuidenhout ($6,600)
PGA DFS Additional Plays
- Scottie Scheffler ($13,300): While other elite players struggled at Oakmont, Scheffler remained steady and managed a T7 finish. The Travelers’ defending champ is built for this course and well-positioned to defend his title.
- Collin Morikawa ($12,200): Morikawa’s history at TPC River Highlands isn’t wildly impressive, but he’s a perfect fit for the course. His top-tier ball striking can overcome the issues he’s had on the greens.
- Sepp Straka ($9,200): It’s safe to say we should avoid Straka at the majors at all costs. While he let us down last week, it wasn’t a complete disaster and his track record at recent signature events has been strong and Travelers is an excellent course fit.
- Justin Thomas ($9,300): Let’s be blunt - I genuinely do not enjoy playing Thomas and avoid it at all costs. However, this is a good course fit. He’s performed well recently outside of majors, and he offers two top-10 finishes at Travelers in the most recent tournaments.
- Viktor Hovland ($9,000): Holvand feels a bit underpriced here and is coming in hot off third place at the U.S. Open. His most consistent strength is long iron play, perfect for this course.
- Ben Griffin ($8,100): Griffin has poor course history here but that hasn’t stopped him during his insane hot streak. We’ll ride it til the wheels come off.
- Others: Patrick Cantlay ($9,800), Tommy Fleetwood ($8,900), Russell Henley ($8,800), Si Woo Kim ($7,800), Harris English ($7,700), Aaron Rai ($7,500), Harry Hall ($7,100), Tom Kim ($7,100)
