Kim finished third at the U.S. Open before winning the Genesis Scottish Open with rounds of 65, 66, 68 and 64, completing a bogey-free final round to secure a two-shot victory. Those results ended a lengthy winless stretch and demonstrated that his precise iron play and aggressive scoring remain capable of holding up against stronger fields than the one assembled in Greensboro.
Kim’s missed cut at The Open introduced some volatility, but returning to a familiar Donald Ross layout should provide an immediate reset. Poston is the longest-priced selection and the most compelling true sleeper. The North Carolina native earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2019 Wyndham Championship, shooting rounds of 65, 65, 66 and 62 to finish 22-under without making a bogey during the tournament. He also returned to finish tied for 11th in 2025, recording four rounds of 68 or better.
His current season provides more support than the +6600 number suggests. Poston defeated Ryan Gerard in a playoff to win the 2026 Memorial Tournament and followed that victory with a tie for fourth at the U.S. Open. He enters Greensboro ranked 28th in FedExCup points with four career PGA Tour victories, giving him considerably more winning experience than most golfers available in this odds range.
Poston does not need to overpower Sedgefield. His putting, wedge play and comfort navigating the course’s smaller targets allow him to build scoring stretches without taking unnecessary risks.
