The second total I want to dive into tonight takes us to the Steel City as the 2-4 Pittsburgh Penguins host the still undefeated Colorado Avalanche in one of my favorite games on the board tonight.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction
This is a big spot for the Penguins and I expect them to force the issue here tonight. They have now dropped three straight while being outscored 14-6 in those games. The Pens still have an uber talented squad with a lot of experience and fire power.
I am in no way shape or form worried about their season yet but stringing losses together like this adds up at the end of the season and it can say a lot about your teams capabilities when you can rebound against a big opponent. On home ice tonight, they should force the issue and really try to get some goals on the board early and often.
On the flip side, this is a beyond ideal start to the season for the Avalanche. They are one of just three teams remaining to not have a loss on their record yet and with the way they are playing, that first loss might just be bad puck luck when it comes.
The Avalanche are currently sporting the third most potent offense in the league at 4.44 GPG and they historically struggle against Pittsburgh so I think they try to take advantage of the spiraling Pens tonight. Both teams are poised to score tonight, I like the pace in this one to generate goals. Buying the hook here in case we get stuck at 4-2.
