Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Montreal Canadiens Prediction: Can Matt Tomkins, Lightning Outshine the Canadiens?

Well we had a good night on the ice Monday to kick off the week and I am ready to keep things rolling here on a loaded slate tonight. To get things started, we head up North for a clash between the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Montreal Canadiens Prediction

Tampa Bay conceded less than four minutes into the game yesterday before jumping off the starting block in dramatic fashion scoring four consecutive goals to leave the first period with a commanding 4-1 lead. The rest of the game however was a disaster; they conceded two in the second while scoring none, then conceded two more to open the third and found themselves trailing 5-4. They were able to tie the game with 2:26 on the clock and force overtime but lost 46 seconds into the skills competition.

They remain up north tonight for a clash with the 5-4-2 Habs and this is not the best spot for them. Montreal has dropped three straight but they are 4-2 on home ice and are very well rested having not played since Saturday. They won their last meeting with the Bolts and should be motivated to catch them gassed here tonight and get back in the win column.

Tampa has lost ten straight second legs of a back-to-back and with Matt Tomkins in net tonight for the Bolts they have their work cut out for themselves. I would flirt with the Habs on the money line but the Bolts offense is still electric and after that blown win last night, I think they come out firing and we see goals from both sides here.
