The Golden Knights and Oilers return from the All-Star break with a meeting in Las Vegas tonight. The Golden Knights are 29-15–6 on the season and are in second place in the Pacific division with 64 points. The Oilers are just behind them with the record of 29–15-1 and have 59 points this season, but have also played five fewer games. This is a big matchup between the defending Stanley Cup champions and the hottest team in the NHL, which will surely draw a lot of NHL fans' eyes tonight. The Golden Knights are surprisingly underdogs at home with a line of +130 tonight. Can they end the Oilers streak?

Edmonton Oilers vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
The Oilers were on absolute fire before the All-Star break. They have won 16 games in a row and will attempt to go for 17 tonight. Connor McDavid unsurprisingly leads the team with 67 points, while Leon Draisaitl is 10 points behind him with 57 on the season. The Oilers have always had an elite offensive corps that is always at the top of the NHL in power play percentage for the last few years, but now they also have elite goalie play with Stuart Skinner in net. Stuart Skinner has really been on his stuff lately, as he comes into this game with a record of 23–9-1 on the season and has only allowed 2.44 goals on average per game. With a save percentage of 91%, he is one of the top goalies in the league. During the 16-game win streak, Skinner is 12–0 and has posted a 95% save rate. It is easy to see why, with Skinner in net and McDavid and Draisaitl on offense, the Oilers are favored on the road here. The Golden Knights will counter Skinners' elite play lately with Adin Hill. Adin Hill has easily been the best goalie in the NHL this season when healthy. He has only been able to play 16 games because of injury, but he is 12–2–2 on the season with just 1.93 goals allowed per game on average, which leads the NHL. He is also first in the NHL with a 93.7% save rate. Mark Stone leads the Knights with 49 points on the season, while Jonathan Marchessault is third with 40 points. Jack Eichel is second on the team with 44 points, but he is injured for the time being and will not be playing in tonight‘s game.
The Oilers have posted better offensive stats and with Stuart Skinner hot, they have been able to ride this very long 16-game win streak. The problem is is they have now been off for over a week with the All-Star break. There is no bigger momentum killer than an All-Star break, and it will be difficult for the Oilers to pick up where they left off. To make matters worse, they are traveling to the defending Stanley Cup champions arena and are facing a Knights team that has been one of the best squads at home in the NHL. Adin Hill is one of the hardest goalies to face in the league right now, and he could be the kryptonite for this high-flying offense. While the underlying metrics rightfully pin the Oilers as favorites in this spot, this is a difficult game to come back from the All-Star break on, and this is too good of a line to pass up on the Knights at home as underdogs.
