Tampa Bay Lightning vs New York Islanders Prediction: Can Nikita Kucherov, Lightning Put Pucks Past Islanders?

The second total I really want to sink my teeth into today takes us to the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, as the Islanders (21-17-12) host the Tampa Bay Lightning (27-19-5) in a game I expect to be packed with action.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Islanders Prediction

The Bolts are fresh off a loss last night to New York and will be looking to rebound here on the back-to-back and avoid more missed points. On the flip side, the Isles wanna impress Patrick Roy and the fans at home here to kick off the back half of the campaign.

The Islanders look much better under Patrick Roy and as I have said many times before, I genuinely love their roster. When you think of teams with an elite five-six guys, you think Colorado, Tampa Bay, Boston, Florida, Carolina, maybe a few others like Toronto and Dallas. Outside of them though, New York is next on my list.

Mathew Barzal, Bo Horvat, Brock Nelson, Sebastian Aho, and Kyle Palmieri are a lethal group of guys and they can square up with the likes of Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point, and Victor Hedman tonight.

Tampa Bay will be without Andrei Vasilevskiy tonight since he got the nod against the Rangers so Jonas Johansson will be between the pipes here and is a very obvious downgrade. Iyla Sorokin has been better at home but the net minder has been a shell of his former self at times this year. I think we get to this number easily and should go over in most cases.
