Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars Game 5 Prediction
After two straight overs with 15 combined goals, you know my contrarian senses are tingling watching the total in this game drop from o/u 6 to o/u 5.5. Both of these teams know that tonight’s game is the most important of the series; whoever wins on Friday night is most likely playing for the Cup.
With the home-ice advantage shifting to Dallas, I’m expecting both teams to come out a little slower and more conservative than we’ve seen in recent games. Dallas is coming off a loss, but with them returning home I think they will come out in no rush to push the pace If anything, they’ll let Edmonton on the road make the first mistake. I just don’t see the Stars potent offense waking up until the second period...
Edmonton now has all the momentum in this series after tying it up in Game 4. Although they won’t be playing at home tonight, all the pressure will be on them to keep their foot on the gas and try to potentially steal a win on the road on Friday night. If they don’t, their season is more than likely over. I’m predicting the lights to be a little too bright for the role players surrounding McDavid on the ice for Edmonton tonight. Don’t expect to see the Oilers lighting up the scoreboard on Friday.
