It is time, the last hockey article of the season and honestly, I don't think there could be a better one to be writing (well it would have been nice to have been done after Game 4 but I digress). The Edmonton Oilers have been raised from the dead and have erased a 3-0 deficit to force a winner takes all finale tonight in South Florida against the Florida Panthers.

There are no more 2,500 mile plane rides for both squads after this one: either the Oilers are flying home with Lord Stanley or it's staying right there in Amerant Bank Arena with the Cats for what I can assume would be a wild celebration in Miami.

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the peak of the sport, the furthest a dream can reach. Monday nights contest will be the 18th Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals history. The home team is 12-5 in the those 17 previous games, advantage Florida. The team who scores first is also 12-5 in those games, advantage to be determined.

All good captains are willing to go down with the ship and I am in that boat here tonight. Edmonton absolutely has all of the momentum here and they have turned this series on its head but they still have not done it, they still need one more. I don't think Florida was too worried in Game 4, realized it was real in Game 5 and Game 6 was all nerves and playing in Alberta with the prospect of a game seven around the corner had to be a lot.

The thing is now, you don't have that next game opportunity, this is it. Yeah, you blew a 3-0 lead, can you respond? Do you want to be the second team in NHL history to blow a 3-0 lead or do you want to get your act together and play one more complete game?

Connor McDavid and Edmonton has dominated the last nine periods. Matthew Tkachuk and Florida dominated the first six weeks of the postseason. They have beat elite teams, responded to adversity and found a way to get the job done. If they blow this one to lose in the finals back-to-back years, I don't know what to say.

If you told me when I took Florida to win the cup back in March that they would be in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, I would have been happy. We are here, go finish it.
