The St Louis Blues and The Seattle Kraken meet from Rain City on Tuesday Night to kick off the 2024-2025 NHL season.

St. Louis starts 2024 looking to bounce back from a disappointing season, as the Blues posted a 43-33-6 record and missed the postseason for a second consecutive season. That's alarming considering that from 2011 to 2021, the Blues missed the postseason just once.

St. Louis won the Stanley Cup in 2019 when they defeated the Boston Bruins.

The Kraken begin their fourth season as a franchise, but Seattle has missed the postseason in two of their three years in existence.

In 2023, the Kraken reached the playoffs, supporting a record of 46-28-8. The Kraken won their first-ever playoff series. But, Last season was an up-and-down year for Seattle, who went 34-35-13.

Both teams start this season looking to bounce back from letdowns in 2023-2024.

St. Louis Blues vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction

St. Louis center Robert Thomas led the Blues with 26 goals and 60 assists last season while veteran Brandon Saad added 26 goals and 16 assists. But it was 26-year old Jordan Kyrou that burst onto the scene in 2023.

Kyrou was second on the team in points with 67 as he scored 31 goals and racked up 36 assists for St. Louis.

Blues goalie Jordan Binnington ranked 10th in Save Percentage (.913) last season.

For the Kraken, it was veteran Jared McCann who led the way, scoring 29 goals while dishing out 33 assists and Oliver Bjorkstrand produced a team-high 39 assists in the campaign.

Jordan Eberle added 17 goals and 27 assists in 2023.

Goalie Joey Daccord led the team with 19 wins and a GA/G of 2.46.
