The Golden Knights head to Anaheim on Thursday night with a 3-2 series lead after surviving Game 5 in overtime. Anaheim outshot Vegas 36-25 and pushed hard late, but Carter Hart stopped 34 of 36 shots before Pavel Dorofeyev scored his second goal of the night at 4:10 of overtime to give Vegas a 3-2 win.
Game 6 starts at 9:30 p.m. ET on TNT, with Vegas priced at -112 on the moneyline. The Ducks have created enough pressure throughout this series to stay dangerous, but Vegas has been the better road team lately and now gets a chance to close the series before it ever returns to T-Mobile Arena.

Golden Knights vs. Ducks Prediction Game 6
The Game 5 result was another reminder that Anaheim can win the shot battle without winning the game. The Ducks generated the better volume, tied it late through Olen Zellweger, and again made Hart work under heavy pressure. Beckett Sennecke also continued his strong series by scoring for Anaheim, but the Ducks could not finish the job in overtime despite forcing Vegas into long defensive stretches.
Vegas’ concern is that it will be without Brayden McNabb after his one-game suspension for the hit on Ryan Poehling, while Poehling will also miss Game 6 for Anaheim. That takes a key defensive presence out of the Knights’ lineup, but Vegas still has the deeper playoff structure and the goaltending edge if Hart stays at his current level. He was the difference in Game 5, and his ability to withstand Anaheim’s shot volume gives the Knights a clear closing path.
The Ducks have played with energy, pace, and strong offensive chemistry, but the finishing gap has become the issue. Anaheim has outshot Vegas in multiple games and still trails the series because the Golden Knights have been more clinical in the biggest moments. If the Ducks fall behind early, chasing the game against a team that can protect leads and lean on Hart becomes a difficult formula.

Anaheim has been the more active team in stretches, but Vegas has the steadier finishing, the stronger road profile lately, and the goalie in better form. Hart should give the Knights enough stability to survive another Ducks push and close the series in Anaheim.
